    Gradual or sudden increase?

I had been on a low cal, low fat diet for several months, too low, apparently which probably caused the binges that kept me from loosing weight.  I was eating about 1200 cal and a max of 15 gr of fat a day.  According to Alli, which I am trusting, I should be eating 1800 cal, and 60 gr of fat a day.

Should I increase gradually, or just go for the goal?

Today was my first day on Alli, and I made it to 1530 cal, and 17 gr of fat, so far (still have a bed time snack to go).

I have ideas on how to meet the goals, but don't want to send my body into shock.

    Thanks!

    Sam

    Re: Gradual or sudden increase?

The alli program recommends that you start the diet first then after about three days you'll add the alli capsules.  If you feel too full at first, I will recommend you do it slowly, specially because the alli meal plans have about 25 grams of fiber per day (the dietary recommendations for fiber) and sometimes the high fiber all at once may cause some constipation, bloating, and gas.  Take it slow and you will be off to a successfully start.
