    Re: fat grams

My comments are always rejected.  I feel rejected.  I have questions regarding fat grams vs fat calories.  I don't know if  I am doing the program correctly and cannot get any help...

    Re: fat grams

Your recommended target calories and fat are within range, 30% calories from fat is considered a healthy low-fat plan to provide a safe and healthy weight loss.  However, If you are experiencing treatment effects, those are usually managed by cutting down the fat in your meals.  First, spend some time reviewing the alli Calorie and Fat Counter, there are so many foods we consider low-fat or fat-free that have their own natural fat.  For example, 1 hard boiled egg = 5 grams fat, hard pretzels (5 sticks) = 7 grams fat, plain pancakes (2- 4" each) = 10.9 grams fat, 1 med. piece grilled salmon = 12 grams fat.  As you can see fat grams add up quickly!  Also, try to log in your food intake at myalliplan.com, it will help you track your daily calories and fat to make sure you are not going over your target fat and calories.

Treatment effects can be managed with a low-fat diet, but to report these, please call 800-671-2554

Let me know if your have any other questions.

    Re: fat grams

According to the chart, I should  eat 1800 calories and 19 grams of fat. What happens if I don't make it to those numbers?

    Re: fat grams

If I'm under 15 grams of fat at each mean will Alli still work?   I've been on Alli since Thursday and haven't seen any difference.  I read about these  others losing 4-5 lbs in a few days and I get discouraged.

    Re: fat grams

    Sylvia -

I appreciated this member's question, but I am still confused with fat grams. I am not clear which I am to be looking at - % of fat grams or the total number of fat grams.

For instance, one of my favorite meals is Wendy's Mandarin Chicken Salad. It's fat grams is 2, and the % is 10. I add 1/2 of the reduced-fat ranch dressing - it's fat grams is 8, but the % is 72%. Have I made a good choice or am I over the 19 grams & 30% of fat? I ate this meal for dinner tonight, I am not sure if I had a treament effect or just effects of eating a day of lots of veggies (ruffage)??

I would appreciate it if someone can explain what is more important...if % is important how I calculate the %.

    Thanks Much
