     empiregirl17,

It's okay, really! With Alli, you shouldn't "deprive" yourself of ANY food. Just make the adjustments to fit it in with the plan.

It will be okay, really! :-)

Deb is right....Don't beat yourself up.  You really shouldn't deprive yourself of any food.  If I am really craving something, I will allow myself 1/2 of what I would normally eat.  It is very difficult with carry-ins at work not to try to eat everything offered.  We did a breakfast carry-in yesterday.  I certainly blew my diet but I don't do that very often.  I usually allow myself a small portion of whatever is served.  Being from the South, it is hard to break the habit of not trying everything at a pot luck....you can't hurt anyone's feelings for not trying their dish.

    Re: need encouragement

    Hi Empiregirl17,

What is wrong with having a cheeseburger? You are not "on" a diet, so there are no "good" and "bad" foods. The goal here is to learn to eat a balanced diet and make adjustments if and when you splurge on something. You also want to learn to accept that there is no need to be perfect with this. You have developed your eating habits over time and it takes time to learn new ones. Having an occasional slip every now and then is a part of the process. As long as you can learn from them and move on then you are right on track. I also bet that there were a lot of foods that you did not eat at that bbq, but I don't hear you praising yourself for that. Doesn't it feel better to focus on the positive changes that you made?
