Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Where Are You?

Patty, it wouldn't even let me reply to your post where you suggested we start a new thread, so I thought since I have to start a new reply anyway, I'd just start a new thread.  I'll try to keep this short and see if that makes a difference.  Patty, the way you work out, you have to be skinny.  Twelve-pound weights?  I couldn't even lift one of those, let alone two.  You are good, woman, you are good, (well, except for the Milk Dud fettish).  I think you're right about Trader Joe's having a good selection of gluten-free foods, I was in there today and noticed they do have a lot of soy-based substitutes and weird things like that, don't know about prices though.  I don't think they have a big selection of produce, at least the one here doesn't.  I have a Farmers Market close to my house, they're set up every Saturday morning and I always go there to get home-grown tomatoes (since apparently I can't do well with them), and nectaries, peaches, stuff like that.

Today is day five on NutriSystem and I lost another 1/2 pounds, so that's 3-1/2.  My daughter has only lost one pound, but she's been cheating!  She had to go to San Jose on business for a couple of days and that means eating in restaurants, and I couldn't get through that without cheating either.  Nine more days to go and I want real food!  I have to say I think it's going to work for me, I think I should lose the five pounds and then hopefully it will stay off.  I can't say that I recommend it because it is very small portions, hardly any flexibility in the diet, and some of the stuff is not tasty at all.  However, some of the stuff is pretty good, and this is only for two weeks, any longer and I'd be toast.

I haven't watched the news today but last night they said that Fay was still wreaking havoc.  Elia, I'm glad to know you aren't in Northern Florida and not in the direct path, but you must be getting pretty sick of the rain.  Oh yeah, your post cracked me up when you said you felt sorry for anybody who had to eat glutten-free.  Well, I don't think that's any of us because we must all be gluttens or we wouldn't be in this boat.  Sorry, I know you meant gluten-free, but I just had to pick on you because it made me laugh.

Lizzy, I didn't get to read your post about your mom because when I tried to reply to Patty's post I got booted out of there, but I'll go back now and read it and hopefully be able to reply.

Love you all, and hope you have a great weekend.

    Judy

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Where Are You?

hi, i tried to post here the other day and it wouldn't let me on so i don't know if starting a new thread is going to help or not.

wow, i wish i was as close to my weight goal as you are.  ever since i had a hystorectomy my metabolism has slowed down, for a point and time in my life i use to work out even more and eat less than 1200 calories a day just to keep my weight down, but of course it screwing my body up and  caused me to lose muscle.  so i've had to work hard to build  my muscle masss up, now with the celiacs thing(Gluten Free yippie) which causes malabsorption of nutrients, and can cause bone loss and muscle loss i have to work hard just to maintain where i'm at.  my other issue is that i don't sleep well, i'm lucky if i can sleep 4hrs staight thru, then i wake up and go to the bathroom then my mind start running on and on and i have a hard time falling back to sleep. i've tried prescription sleep meds. but not much help. all the new studies are showing that getting enough sleep is an important componant in weight loss, one that i can't seem to master.  but life frequently serves us lemons , i just continue to make the best of it , by smiling and making lemonaide!

hope everyone is doing well and can find the thread!

    take care, patty

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Where Are You?

See Judy, now you have done it!! Two threads going!! hey Patty, so good to hear from u babe! I guess the hysterectomy has done to you what just plain aging has done for me!! heck, if I can lose this stupid weight!! I used to take it for granted, no matter how much I gained, at one point I was even obese, all I did was get back into swimming and within 3 months I would be back to my "normal" weight!! Well shoot, after i hit fifty, no way is that happening!! The swimming did not do it,m the walking did not do it eaither, forget the eating! I have never been able to follow a diet!! I am eating healthier and feeling much better, but still want to lose 13 more pounds!! Judy hon, there is no way that I would try the Nitrisystem!!  I really was considering it, but after your post on this thread, forget it!! Patty, check the other thread that has all our names, I think Judy forgot Buzz's name on this one, so she started the other one!! Leave it to Judy to get us more confused than we already are!! Judy, that one is to get back at you for making fun of my "glutten free" comment!! Love u all,

    Elia

Live, love and laugh while you are at it!! PEP= plan, exercise and post!! Hugs,
