Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

Oh crud, it wouldn't let me reply to Lizzy's post either, and then I discovered I left Buzz' name out of the title of the new thread.   I apologize, Buzz, I wouldn't leave you out for the world.  So then I thought, oh I'll just throw my name in there too, and soon the title will be too long to post too!  I wouldn't even dare try for Becky and Alinka, and I think they're long gone anyway.  Elia, nice of you to keep us updated on Becky!  Liz, I'm so sorry about the situation with your mom.  As you may remember, my mom had Alzheimers too, and I watched her deteriorate.  Have you thought about moving in with her, or having one of your non-visible siblings move in with her.  Or having her move in with one of you?  I remember when I had my mom move in with me and my kids, it didn't work very well because it messed up my kids' family life.  I had to take my mom's cigarettes away from her because she would light them and them leave them burning everywhere.  She would also turn on the gas burner to cook something and then just leave the kitchen with it on.  She also would leave the house in the middle of the night and the cops would pick her up, wandering in her robe, lost.  I also had to take her car keys away because she would hop in the car and take off and get lost, (going the wrong way on the freeway once).  And all of that was before she got really bad and had to go into a convalescent hospital.  So I know what your future looks like, and it isn't pretty.  Elia, you with your mom too, same situation.  Elia, you are able to cope pretty well, it seems to me, so Lizzy I think you might take a page out of Elita's book and pop open a Bud or two!  And go sit by the pool, I think that's pretty good therapy.

    Love, Judy

All I need is for Mia to have an accident while in my bed!! I text messaged Becky a picture "avocadoe shoot", the thing is only an inch tall, but I am so proud of it!! Becky's response?      Liz

So sorry youve got so much stress in your life dealing with your mother.I stayed with my dad after my mother passed away.He went for for swimming exercises 3 times a week.A bus would pick him up and take him and drop him home.He couldnt even exercise with his emphezma but he would go and stand in the water and talk.So it got him out of the house. Can you get a elder social worker to come in for a hour or a week. There are a lot of services to check into. Maybe even half day day care. There are 6 of us so i always had input from every one.But at least my sister did a lot such as the doctor appts. I couldnt manage on my own with him.And he loved sports so my sister still took him to high school foot ball game we just had to talk him into usung a wheel chair.HE ALSO LOVED BASEBALL AND EVERY SUMMER I WOULD DRIVE HIM UP TO THE LEGION GAMES AND LEAVE HIM.tHANK GOODNESS A LOT OF PEOPLE KNEW HIM AND ALWAYS LOOKED OUT FOR HIM THEN I WOULD GO BACK AND PICK HIM up hours later.I must have hit my gaps button and im to lazy to go back and re type.it Just take it one day at a time.

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

Yayyyy, it let me answer a post.  We may be on to something here.  Elia, take care of thyself, you need your strength so you can go back to WORK on Monday.  Remember you have a JOB now.  Sorry about using those two words, I know you don't need that reminder when you're sick.  Congratulations on the avacado plant, and here's hoping it becomes recognizable in photos!  I tried to grow one once.  Well actually my son started it and when it was about two feet tall he had to move so he gave it to me.  Then I killed it.  Like I do everything I try to go.  including my beloved tomatoes.  But oh well, I hit the Farmers Market this morning and picked out a couple of big Heritage types, one called "The Mortgage Lifter" and the other is a gold one called "Kentucky", they're beauties.  As long as summer is here I'm in produce heaven.

Sixth day on NutriSystem, food getting more gross by the day, but I've lost four pounds now, so I guess it's worth suffering through.  Daughter Renee not doing so well on it, she just got back from San Jose where she ate good food and is now on her way to Tahoe with her hubby to see James Blunt, or whatever that singer's name is, in concert, so more good food for her, and no bad NutriSystem.  Get better, girlfriend, you hear me?

    Love, Judy

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

Hi Linda, I'm sorry to hear you are sick too!  Isn't this the wrong time of year to get sick?  I think it's also the wrong time of year to wash curtains, or windows, or do fall cleaning.  Before I can do fall cleaning, I have to do spring cleaning, autumn cleaning, and winter cleaning.  Take care of yourself. just lay around all weekend and pamper yourself.  I've had quite a mess so far this weekend, the hose that pumps the water into the ice maker in the fridge broke yesterday and spewed water until it soaked the hardwood floor in the kitchen and part of the carpet in the living room, (I think I told you that yesterday, sorry).  But the point is that my son Mike and his wife and daughter are on their way over right now.  Mike is going to replace the hose.  I'm going to fix lunch for them and it's killing me.  I stopped at a farmer's house who lives close to me and picked up several ears of that Sloughouse corn that I love so much, and it was just picked today, and then bought homemade tamales from a lady at the Farmers Market.  That's what I'm going to feed them and I can't eat it!  Wahhhh, i have to eat my NutribarfSystem entree.  Oh boy, give me strength.

Take care and I hope you feel better tomorrow.

    Love, Judy

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

Oh Linda, aren't this summer colds the worst?? I sure hope that you will not get sick! Have you tried Airborne? I used it at the beginning of the week, but then like a fool, I did not continue to use it, and wham bam, the cold got me!! I am glad that you and your sibblings were able to let your dad enjoy the things that he liked during his last stage on this earth!  hey Judy hon, I have only done experiments with growing plants in school, so this is a new experience for me!! I keep looking at that shoot and am in Heaven whenever somethibg new happens, it actually looks like it is beginning to show some leaves!! Now, what the heck am I going to do with it is another story!!  We live in a very small townhouse, the small patio that we have, is covered, mostly with pavers (we only left a small area for the pups to do their thing!, and my mom  hates tall trees in her backyard!! Heck, we paid dearly to have an old and sick avocadoe tree removed from her yard!! My mom is terrified of a tree falling on her house during a hurricane!! The only tree that I have been able to salvage at her place is a pine that I bought live for one Christmas, planted it and now it is quite huge!! Do not feel well and this weather is sure not helping!! It is still raining!! Ok, time to go to bed, again! I do not like being sick, but then, who does??  Hey, where is the rest of the gang? Of course if I were not sick, I sure as heck would not be communicating with you all!! So thank the cold for keeping me on board with you, then pray so that it leaves me soon!! Love,

    Elia

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

     Hello everyone,

GRRR!!! I tried to log on so many times during the week and Alli wouldn't let me.  I am finally on here.  Let's see, my week of vacation went by so fast....I need another week.  LOL...  We got a lot done around the outside of the house.  Not much inside.  Had to go to a funeral on Wednesday my hubby's niece's Mother in law died.  That was so sad.

Jamie is doing really good in Iraq.  We talked to him and he is doing really good but home sick.

Melanie came home Friday got her clothes and left for Tennesse....I feel like I have lost her completely.  My heart is like broken in a thousand pieces.  I have been thinking about her so much here lately.  Just afraid something will happen to her and with her being far away I wont be there to help.  I love her so very much.  She doesn't even know who I am.  What I feel or anything.  She doesn't even try to get to know me.  And she wont let me get to know her.  I just pray she will miss me.  Maybe she will realize what she has here at home.  I just pray she will be safe and know she is loved.

Ok...diet out the window.  I didn't even do the check in today.  I can feel  the weight I packed back on.  It sure don't feel good.  How easy it is to gain, gain, gain.  A lot easier to gain then lose!!  It sucks!!  My mom....very direct..Kim..your gaining weight again.  Whats going on you were doing good.  Get with it!!  My reply...Ok...LOL.. I have the I don't give a crap blues.... Not good.... I don't have any Alli pills.  I don't have the money to get any.  So I just don't even want to think about dieting right now.  I know I will regret it.  I worked so hard...And I know it isn't too late to start all over.  I will get back to it in a few weeks when I can get me some more Alli Pills.

I hope everyone is doing good.  Feels great to get to post finally.  I miss not getting on here to post and see how everyone is doing.  Take care everyone.  big hugs...

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

Kim, so good to have you post again, even though you don't have much good news to share.  At least Jamie is doing well in Iraq.  Why is Melanie going to Tennessee?  Is it to move there?  Is it with/because of her boyfriend?  I'll bet she will be back and when she decides to come back you are the one she will call so she'll have someplace to stay.  It takes a long time for them to grow up to the point where they become independent, doesn't it?  Teenagers and young adults do some pretty stupid things, just think back to some of the things you did when you were a kid.  Whew, when I think about it, it's a wonder I lived through it.  I'm sorry to hear your diet is out the window.  I wish I could give you some words of encouragement to get back on it before you undo all the wonderful work you did.  Maybe you can give it a try without the alli.  Maybe just do it when you can type of diet,.

    Anyway, have a great day!

    Judy

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

Hi Buzz, good to hear from you.  Where did you learn the "shorthand" you use?  Do you text a lot?  Once in awhile I'm not sure what you're saying, but most of the time I can read it and it gives me a giggle.  Congratulations on your gardening, I think the baby zucchinis are the tastiest ones.  Did you know people also eat the flowers?  I've never had so many zucchini at one time that I could afford to pull the flowers off.  It doesn't sound very good anyway.  Hey, I have a leaky nose too.  I always have a box of Kleenex on my desk at work, also in my car, and in my bedroom, and in my bathroom.  It just starts leaking without any warning sometimes too, especially if I get cold.  It's probably allergies, but I guess it's better than some other afflictions.

    Have a great day.

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

well came home from work to find Sasha (german sheppard pup) killed two of the chickens we raised and loved.  Grr..l was so upset made me cry and I mean sob...Poor little chicks.  They were just old enough to be free outside with out the older ones hurting them.  But, a dog....we never would of thought the dog would kill and eat them.  So now we are going to have to find her a new home.  Can't have her here around the chickens.  Hate to keep her tied up.  It sucks!!  My hubby was furious with the dog.  I hate getting attached to something for that reason..  So We went to the fence needless to say has electric around it.  I was amazed that elvis was loving on me, letting me pet him and the fence shocked the fire out of me and him.  Darn fence!!  My husband was laughing I was crying again.  It scared me...

Melanie and a girl named Angel ran away for a week during school last year.  Angels Mom was furious with her so they moved to Tennesse.  Angel moved in with her boyfriend became pregnant and lost the baby a few weeks ago.  I know her and Mel kept in touch.  Angel came a picked up Mel maybe to help ease the pain of losing the baby.  She wants Mel to live with her and her boyfriend and she said she was going to fix mel up with her boyfriends best friend.  But, I talked to Mel and she said she didn't like him at all.  It was boring there and she will come back home in a few weeks.  We will see....

I think I need a bath and bed time. Hugs..

Oh Kimberley, you always crack me up.  Your life is NEVER dull!  You and Elvis are buddies now?  That's a good thing.  Being electrocuted, that's a bad thing.  Still, all of it is funny.  Not funny that your dog killed your chickens though.  I've heard once they do that, they continue to do it.  Melanie is just something else.  You have your challenges, but still manage to keep your sense of humor.  Love it!
