Hello everyone!! I have been in sick bay, that is where I have been!! I am at work but feel just lousy! These summer colds just do me in!! I have had it for over a week and it does not seem to want to leave me!! Kim, so sorry about the chicks!!  I do hope that Mel comes home soon!! My plan right now is to get well, I have not even weighed myself!!  Judy babe, my avocadoe "shoot" is doing just great!! At least I hope so!! Linda, I guess you are still having problems with your computer!! Buzz hon, how are you doing? How are your plants comming along? Hey, did you know that bamboo is very good for our eco system!!  The same thing is happening on this new one.I tried to reply to Buzz and there was no room to reply.And of course we are all long winded.LOL

I finally got my butt out of bed and went for a walk,i felt so good.All the problems are still there,but it was nice to get out in the fresh air.I am still losing so the exercise will only help.This weekend when i have more time i will e-mail you whats going on.

Buzz i picked my cucumber yesterday it was so good,and every day now i have a few morning glories blosseming.

There is a full time postion at work posted for nights on the other side were they do the balancing,so i went in and tweaked my resume and applied for the job.I kind of heard they already have in there mind who there going to hire but its shows im interested.

Kids kids they'll drive us crazy.My 2 fight over nothing then there friends as quick as any thing.I just try to stay out of it.

And as far as pets, i got up during the nite to go to the bathroom and stepped in something wet,my male cat had peed on the floor.Hes 14 years old and hes really slowing down,i think i need to get him depends.

 I have been sick all week and had to call in sick at work since I had a fever.  I feel awful....Nothin really new going on. Mel came back home and has an interview with walmart on wednesday.  She is still out and about everynite and coming home in the wee hours...Drives me nuts.  Goin back to bed.

Hello everyone!! Sorry that I have not posted, but like Kim, I have been sick, and worse, not able to call in sick!! I really could have, they gave me the  PTO which I had not used , which is up to 52 hrs., maybe I will take a vacation soon!! I can just hear my boss giving me hell if I do!! I am going to talk to him so that I can take half days off and use those hours!! Shoot, I am back on top of the world and getting my job done before noon! I just feel so lusy that I had not been posting! I lock myself in my office and just listen to music and  rest!! Linda good for you for applying for that position!! Hon, you never know!! There is nothing worse than not trying and then blaming yourself for not doing so!! Buzz, how you doing?? I did see that patty posted on Judy's other thread, so I will go there and see what she is up to!! See what you have done Judy?? Now we have two posts instead of one!! Way to go babe!! Hey Lizzy, what have you been up to?? Are you ok?? Now, I did weigh myself this morn, I had not done so last week, I mean come on, feeling as sick as you can get without going to the Urgent Care, and then having to deal with weight issues?? Not in my world!!  So today I took the plunge, not good but not too bad either!! I am weighing 143, the last time that I weighed myself, right after taking thye job, I weighed 144, so I am going to be happy and deal with those extra 13 pounds sometime in the future!! Oh ladies, and gents if any come along!!, are any of you into football?? I have football fever!! I have the football channel on most of the time, well all the time in my room, in the livingroom I do have to share!! I am actually watching games from last week!! And those are only pre season!!  hello every one its saturday and a long weekend.Well i  called the tech people again,about not being able to reply to a long post and i got some one who actually knew waht was going on and she said they are working on several problems right now.and that one of them is the reply problem.She told me to wait till after the week end and if its not ok call her and she gave me her ext and name.

I hope hope every one is feeling better and gets some rest.

Buzz have you gone to an ear,nose and throat specialist for your runny nose.I had the same problem years ago and used a box of tissues every few days for drippy nose.I had cartliage pushed to the side and it was blocking my nose up. I had sugery and had it scraped out and it took care of the problem.  No more linda drippy nose.

The wheahter is nice here but a little over cast right now we may get thunder storms later to day.we need the rain now its been almost a week and no rain.I keep looking at the hurricanes coming and hope it doest get to bad.

Ive been bad today went and bought some pepsi,i dont usually drink soda at all but had a craving for a large ice filled glass og Pepsi,and of course some chips with dip to go along with it.Ill have to do 20 miles on my stationary bike today to get rid of the calories.I bought some  fresh veggies at the farmers market and some corn.I love fresh corn and we only get it for about 2 months then its back to store bought and no taste.I got a nice georgia peach the other day but it wasnt so nice when i went to eat,i even let it sit a day to ripen it.It was not sweet and looked funny.Ill have to go back to where i bought it and get some of the NJ peaches they were really nice and sweet and tasted good. I am going to have a good supper tonite.Backed potatoe,salad,and i boght a pork tenderloin.so ill slice it and make pork picatta.

Judy have you finished the Nuti System? Now you can start eating the good stuff.

Well going to sign off and put in a dvd and ride my bike.

 Good Sunday morn eveyone! Hope that everyone is ok and outside the dreaded cone of Gustav!! It is very windy, dark and wet here in S. FL and we are not even onthe cone!! A local  newspaper yesterday had as a heading "Labor Day weekend in Miami: Heat, Humidity and Hurricanes!"  I really feel fro those people in NO, if this thing hits there, there could be lots of damamge in that state.  I have no idea if I am doing good with the plan or not, Linda, the pepesi does not sound so bad when you compare it to my beer and fried yuccatans!! Add paella to that, and avocadoe as a side, and you have an idea of how bad I was yesterday!! Hey Buzz, do listen to Linda and go see a good ENT, your4 drippi nose problem may be cause by physical defect and can be corrected!! Hon, the other doc may be right and you may not be allergic!! Any of you out there football junkies? Heck, I have the football channel on most of the day, I even watch the previous day's games!! Yesterday was awsome, VT lost and then Clemson lost!! Hey, I am going for UM, and their loss is good to our cause!! Judy, you have not posted for a while, I am getting worried here!! Kim, I sure do hope that you are feeling much better!! Oh wonder of wonders, I am able to reply yesterday.  I tried several times yesterday and it just wouldn't open up the reply section.  Linda, thanks for calling the technicians and finding someone who knew what you were talking about!  Maybe they have finally fixed it now.  Let's hope.  I don't think I got on the board once last week.  It was busy at work all week and when I got home every night there was always something else going on.  I can't even remember all the questions I had for everybody because I'm afraid to go back and reread the posts for fear I will lose my little spot here.  Just know I've been thinking about all of you and hope all your sicknesses are getting better.  Elia, I know you've been sick for a couple of weeks now, and seems like Lizzy and Kimberley have had the bug too.  Linda, I know you've been in a funk for awhile now, so hope things are better for you, and that the job situation has improved.  Everyone who is having an "up" day today, (Sunday), raise your hand.

Today is my last day on the NutriSystem two-week plan that Renee and I devised.  All I can say is thank God we didn't have to stay on it longer.  The food is just down right nasty in some cases.  Some of it is okay, but all of it is pitifully small portions.  You can supplement most of the meals with salads and vegetables, and while I like both, I am sick of the whole thing.  The up side is that I accomplished what I set out to do.  I want to lose five pounds and lost six, so I'm happy about that.  I'm still one pound away from the healthy BMI of 24.9, but I can do that on my own, hopefully.  So my trouble daughter, Lisa, came over today.  I say trouble because she's a bad influence on my eating.  Off we went to the Cheescake Factory for lunch.  I had pizza and cheesecake for dessert.  I think I'll just skip the scale party tomorrow morning.  The other daughter, Renee, still has two more days of NutriSystem because she did some traveling on business during the two weeks we were on it and skipped a few meals.  She hasn't weighed herself in several days because she doesn't want to get discouraged, but she can now fit into a skirt she wants to take with her to Miami on Tuesday, and it hasn't fit for a couple of years, so it all looks good.

Elia, I'm glad you are safe from Gustav where you are, but I'm wondering if you know if Miami is in its path in any of the scenarios.  From what I've seen it's headed straight for New Orleans, but could veer off that path and hit Florida.  I guess we should know by late tonight or tomorrow.  I know if it looks troublesome at all Renee will not go on her trip.  She's going to South Beach and will be there from Tuesday through Sunday, so I'm worried about her.  It's a business trip, but then her husband is going to join her there on Friday and they're going to go to the Keys and go snorkeling.  I hope it works out for them and everybody who is in danger there.  I hope it will turn its nasty self around and go back out to sea.

I think I had better put on the Walk at Home DVD and try and get rid of some of that cheesecake now, (oh, it was made with Godiva dark chocolate, oh my).

 well i think i'm finally in the right place and i'm going to get to post.

my friends mother in-law goes to some type of day care for adult who have dem. , the bus comes and picks her up and drops her off, it's 5days a week for 8hrs plus trans time.  it gives her family a break from having to take care of her all the time, then the elderly father in-law deals with the evening and the kids rotate on the weekends.

buzz there a newer prescription nasal spray that i use that gets rid of that nosie problem.  i had sinus surgury when i was 29 which helped a lot, but then got my nose broke at work a few years later and had problem with it until last yr. when the dr. finally found something that works for me.

hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend.  we had a church picnic today and tomorrow we're having a party here.  the baby will be moving tues. afternoon to his new adoptive family, which is a friend of mine, and then on tues. i'll find out when the twins sibling will be moving in. so please everyone keep me in your prayer(the twins baby brother is 10 days younger than mine that is leaving, and the other siblings are 2, & 4;  & the twins are 3 so i'll be staying very busy!....... maybe too busy to obsess about those milk duds.

 hello every one

Need your prayers for some of my family.This morning when i signed on to my cpmputer and read my emails i had one from one of my cousins.Her younger brother and his girl fried just had a baby 10 weeks ago and he just gave her a ring and they were planning to get married.Saturday was her first saturday to work afer having come back from maternity leave.She left work and stopped at wal mart to get a few things(they live in the middle of no where).On the way home from the store a car hit her car head on and she was killed.I just talked to my cousin her brother is devastated by the whole thing as is her family.The girls parents live in Vermont so there taking the little guy home with them for a while,my cousin is just to overwhelmed right now to take care of a 10 week old. And her family is still getting over a loss in there family.One of her brothers wifes had lukemia and had a bone maarrow transplant within hours she suffered a massive stroke and died.She leaves a 4 yr old.This happened in april.I feel so bad for that family loosing 2 members with 5 month period.So please in your prayers remeber all of them.Thanks

Pleae let us know if there is anything tha6t we can do for you, besides prayers and just having you among us.  hey, as long as there is a UM game going, you better not even think of calling me!! Now, the Dolphins are another matter!! I do have my UM flip flops, ect. I will not bore the rest of the gang with everything I have!!  Hi Linda, your family and you are definitely in my prayers.  Life is just so precious, isn't it?  We just need to enjoy every day as much as possible because it can be snatched away from you so suddenly.  It's a blessing that the baby isn't old enough to know what is happening.  How are you holding up?  I'm glad we can be here for you, and please feel free to let it all out here, rather than holding it inside.  You're in my thoughts and prayers.

 Hi Elia, I didn't know you were such a sports fan, but it sounds like you're having fun.  It's good since pool weather will soon be gone, and beer is as much a part of watching sports as laying by the pool is.  I tried to get on and post several times over the weekend and it just wouldn't let me reply, so I'm doing this from work.  Last week I was just too busy at work to get on the board.  This week looks better, especially since I won't be in tomorrow.  I'm going to a wedding in San Francisco tomorrow.  It's a gay friend of mine and it's the first gay wedding I've ever been too.  I know this guy's fiance too and they're both really nice people and I'm very happy for them.  There will be a reception immediately following at a gay couple's house.  I think it will be a gay old time!  If there isn't too much tempting food at the reception, my daughter who leads me astray, Lisa, and I are going to Fisherman's Wharf in S.F. for a seafood dinner.  I finished up NutriSystem on Saturday and lost six pounds in the two weeks, so now I just have to keep it from creeping back on.  Doesn't sound like tomorrow will help with that at all.  Oh yeah, going out for drinks with friends tonight too.  Party on!

Hay Patty, I'm glad we all found each other here.  I'm still having trouble replying from my home computer, but I'm doing this at work today and it seems to be working just fine, or maybe they fixed it over the weekend, as they told Linda they were trying to do.  Patty, can you say what the name of the prescription is that you were telling Buzz about?  I have the same problem and yesterday and today have been really dripping.  It feels like a cold coming on, but I know it's just my drippy old nose.  I've tried a few different prescription nose sprays and they burn the inside of my nose so much I can't use them, but maybe this one is different.  So today is the baby's moving day, that must be tough.  At least it's a friend of yours so you can stay in close contact with the baby.  I know you're a very busy lady, but I don't buy that line about being too busy for the Milk Duds, heh heh.  Never too busy to think about our cravings, at least I'm not.  During my NutriSystem period I had a bad craving for Laura Scudders peanut butter, so Saturday afternoon I ate a bunch of it right out of the jar.  Actually made me a little sick from eating too much of it, but the craving is gone!  I hope you're having a good day.
