Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

Linda, I'm glad you're feeling better, it's horrible to go to work when you are not feeling well.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed you get one of those fulltime jobs  you applied for.  Patty, I replied to you about people not following through on things, but it didn't post.  I was just saying it seems to be true more and more lately, no matter who it is you're trying to deal with on the phone.  I always figure a phone call that should take about two minutes will end up taking about 45 minutes, because of getting transferred, cut off, and talking to people who just don't know their jobs.  Whatever happened to customer satisfaction?

New York was fabulous and if I had time I could write about it for hours.  I loved every minute of it and crammed everything I could into the days we were there.  I definitely want to go back, I'd like to see it in every season.  Central Park was beautiful, but we took the carriage ride at night and couldn't see much because it was dark!  Hello!  Next time we will spend a day just wandering around there.  Times Square was unbelievably beautiful at night.  We took the Staten Island Ferry and cried when we saw the Statue of Liberty.  We went to Ground Zero and cried when we toured the devastation.  But we also did lots of fun things, dinner at Tavern on the Green, shopping at Bloomingdale's and Bergdorf Goodman's, rode the subway for the experience, (wouldn't do it again), went to Little Italy to have pizza at Lombardi's, (the oldest pizza restaurant in the U.S.)

Elia, where are you?  If you don't surface by this weekend, I'll be calling you!  I hope everybody knows that Buzz had to go to India, as her father is very ill.  She will be back in a couple of weeks.  Kimberley, you seem to be missing too, as well as Lizzy.  What's happening to our group?  I know I haven't been very good about posting lately, too busy at work, but my goal is to improve on that.

Speaking of work, gotta go....love to all.

    Judy

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

hey judy, i'm still here.  had a crappy day today, they had a different lady doing the child care at work, she didn't let the kid go in the outdoor play area she said it was too cold,it wasn't sunny but they all had light weight jackets on, then she said they all had a time out since they were too loud today. when i got there to pick them up none of them had a there shoes on, i had to go look for them, and there sippy cups, where usually the lady has there jackets on them and the diaper bag packed.  i was in a hurry because my friend was bringing baby Johnny over for a hour visit with the kids before nap time since we haven't seen him much in the last 2weeks(he's the baby that i raised from birth that just left the beginning of Sept.) anyways the visit went ok, but the day just did not go well, 2 of the kids didn't nap, and then after nap when i usually take them out it started raining so they've been all riled up. so needless to say it's been a long day.  hopefully tommorrow will be better.

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

Wow, Patty, what a busy day.  It reminded me of when all my kids were little and how much running around was involved.  No time for yourself, that's for sure.  Good thing you have your Milk Duds to get you through!  Seriously, how't the "diet" going?  Seems like you just had a few pounds left to lose.  How you can do it at all with kids to feed is beyond me.  I certainly couldn't when my kids were little, in fact, I can't even do it now when my daughter comes just for the weekend!  I hope the rest of your day goes better.

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

     Hello girls

Well still no car and no news on the job.Hes taking for ever to tell us who got the jobs..I start my vacation tomorrow and am going to really stay on plan for the whole week and do my exercise bike every day!!!!!!!!!!!.

Patty that lady sounds like she doent like her job or she was just having a bad day.Kids need to be out unless its freezing. When my  girls were younger i did lunch monitor duties and they went out at lunch for 15 mins.the kids need that break.

Judy    " I love NY".I went once when one of my friends lived out side ny city when she was trying to break into commercials. We went in one day and did time sguare and walked all around. They do day tours from here. But usually in nov and dec.I need to lose at least another 50 pounds before i make the attempt to walk around all day.

Elia its so beautiful today,i wish i had a car i would have headed to the beach, its 70 degrees right now and nice and sunny and warm.Next week i think ill borrow my daughters car  and head to the beach,i just need to forget about those fried yummy clam rolls. Cause im gonna be good next week and not bake any apple pies, bread or other yummy stuff.

My cold is finally starting to clear but half a dozen people at work are sneezing and hacking also. Its that time of the year.

    Linda

A year from now you will wish you had started today.

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

Hey Linda, it sounds like you're feeling better at least, in spite of no car, no job.  The vacation will be great, I hope you do get to the beach.  It looks like the flu season has begun, people around here are hacking and coughing too, and Renee just called and said she can feel the flu coming on too.  My annual physical isn't until November 7, so I don't get my flu shot until then.  I hope I can hang on, I take lots of vitamins and get plenty of sleep, now the eating and exercise maybe could use a little tweaking, okay a lot.  Actually, I've been good diet-wise all week so far, but since I don't work Fridays, my weekend starts tomorrow and Lisa and I are going out to lunch, so all bets are off.  I still have two pounds to go to get to the healthy BMI stage, doesn't seem like too much to ask, but it just won't go away.  You're right about losing 50 pounds making a difference in walking around New York, (or anywhere).  I know a year to two ago I couldn't have done it.  Now sometimes I just marvel at how much more energy I have to walk.  When you think about it, 50 pounds is a big load to tote around.  I hope I can keep that on my mind when I start to slip back into my old ways.

Elia, how about you?  How's the weight battle?  Is work interfering with that too?  You're right though, be thankful you have a job, in spite of how hard they make you work.  With the layoffs going on in every industry, it's prety darned scary and insecure.  I'm thankful every day I have a job, and one I like at that.

Okay back to work while I still have a job!

    Have a good day everyone,

    Judy

    Hi Judy,

I am sorry that I didn't know that you were coming to NY. I recently moved back to the city and would have loved to meet you. I lived here many years ago and continued working here while living in the suburbs where I grew up. I could not be happier to be back here. There really is no other place like it. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your trip.

Maybe one of these days I'll get to meet one of you in person.

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

Betty, I wish I could say the d--- word here, because that's how I feel about missing you in New York.  I would have met up with youh in a heartbeat!  It would have been great to share your love of Manhattan, and meet someone I have liked and respected for so long.  I miss it even though I was only there a few weeks.  Renee and I keep singing the "New York, New York" song to each other, or bits and pieces of it, as well as any other song that has "New York" in it, like "When you get caught between the moon and New York City".  I will be going again next year when she goes for the same conference, and will definitely get in touch with you.  Love you!

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

     Kim

I hope your feeling better.I finally have gotten rid of my cold.My daughter was home from RI this week end.She and i went to the Budweiser brewery today. We went through were they make the beer and then you can go to the hospitatly room for 2 samples(Elia the best part of the tour) I had pumpkin spice and a micholob something (it was a dark beer). Then we went and loked at the clysdels horses, they are beautiful.

So far it seems like ive been cooking and cooking when my daughter comes home i made the 3 of us a nice supper last nite.Steak, asparagus, and mashed potatoes.I bought a turkey to cook tomorrow ans some squash.Since  i work 2nd shift my  daughter who lives at home with me usually eats leftovers or goes out to eat or eats at friends houses. So it will be good to cook supper for her at nite.Last time i was on vacation she was working 2- 11 so all she got was left overs.

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

Hey everyone, I'm doing the happy dance today.  I got on the scale this morning and I weigh 158.  My goal for a long time has been to just get to a healthy BMI, which was 159, but hey, I'll take the extra pound too.  Now I'm through dieting, from now on it's just maintaining, and I believe it will be tough, but I never thought I would make it this far, so here's hoping.

Linda, I know what you mean about cooking and eating when your kids are around.  I declined an invitation to dinner this past weekend because it was my two daughters getting together to cook it and that means fat, fat, fat and calories, calories, calories.  But now that I've hit my goal, I'm ready for the invitations.

Elia, you need to get back on the board, I'm getting worried about you!  Have you heard from Buzz?  I haven't heard a word since she left for India.  I hope her father is doing okay.

Kim, are you feeling any better?  Come on everyone, let's all get healthy before flu season starts!  Oh that reminds me, better get a flu shot!

    Love, Judy
