Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

Hey Judy, not only is it raining and hot in Miami, but our AC decided that it needed a heart transplant! The stupid thing needs a new motor!! There goes some of the vacation savings down the AC's throat!! Hey, some lost pouds is always better that some gained ones!! You know, I only like lime juice on Coraona, wonder if the advertising is getting to me, since I rarely have Coronas, I buy the cheep stuff!! Always light, though! Babe, I was once rear ended and the damage that could not be seen was huge! The entire muffler was a goner! If you think you were bored at work today, you should see me at home, housemate in my bedroom with my pups, and kitty in her bedroom hiding, while I deal with the AC tech!! I do not know what happened to Linda and Pagtty, I will try to contact them. You take care and behave, not likely but we will keep on trying and having fun while we are at it!! Love,

    Elia

Live, love and laugh while you are at it!! PEP= plan, exercise and post!! Hugs,

Elia you just crack me up with your stories.

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

Wow Linda, you've had some problems going on, no wonder you haven't been on the board.  It brings the old saying to mind, "It never rains, but what it pours".  That's taken literally for you.  Somebody should tell your weather man it's Summer now!  I'm glad you're going in for a consultation and joining a challenge.  I'll tell you though if it's anything like The Biggest Loser, I'd be dead in a day.  It will be good to get your blood pressure down and get back off the meds.  You take care of yourself, you hear?

Elia, the way life has been going lately, did you really think you would get to keep your vacation money for a vacation?  Gotta have an air conditioner though.  If the motor is gone you probably have to buy a whole new one.  That happened to me a couple of years ago and a new one cost me $3,000!  I was shocked.  Nothing bad has happened to me in a couple of days now, so I'll go look for some wood to knock on, and get back to work and be thankful I still have a job.

    Love, Judy

my flowers are turning yellow from to much rain and to little sun.

JUDY THE CHALLENGE IS BASED ON BIGGEST LOSER BUT she tells you to do your own exercise as to what you can do.but having to weigh in every week maybe for 12 weeks will get me going.

Ive been eating eating pretty good.lots of veggies and fruits and yougurt.i bought some of the yopait whipped ones and my sister told me to freeze them for a treat,so im going to stick one in the freezer.

need to get ready for work. really need to start that arc

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

    hey everyone,

my asthma is doing a lot better, haven't had rain in about 5 days, but it's been hot and humid, in the 90's everyday, only leaving the house if we have to, we've been going in the pool for a few hrs. most days, and yes i know i'm moving around in the pool with the kids but not as intense as doing 45mins of cardio, but i can't even consider walking or riding a bike outside. still eating too many salty snacks, bake tostoes with salsa, or low fat microwave popcorn and having diet pop with it, the combo seems to help get rid of the sinus drainage taste. i've actually been researching elliptical and i'm going to buy a commerical grade one to have at the house. the min. i cut back on the exercise i start to gain, then being on the steroids again, i'm heavier now then when i started the program. Also, just feel kinda run down, with celiac's diease if you get any gluten it affects the way the body absords vitamins, that's the reason when i was diagnoised in the first place the dr. said  i had malabsordtion, even though i was eating lots of fruits, veggie, whole wheat,& lean protein. so between the high heat, getting over the few weeks of asthma, and not eating as well, i just feel fat and low energy. so i figure if i can get an elliptical in my home i can easily squeeze in sometime on it. Most days i can do 10 mins in the morning just to get the heart rate up and the energy level moving. then do 20 more mins. later in the day. and on weekends i try to make it to the gym to do 45 mins, but with it being a 15min drive there and 15mins back, then the time for a shower and i usually run into someone i know it ends up a good chunk of time. so doing 45mins a home, then jumping in the shower i'll still be saving time, plus saving on gas. last weekend i had father's day here plus it was my daughters birthday, this weekend having a birthday party for my dad, then the weekend after that 4th of july, so needless to say even though i usually chose health choices when it comes to food i still end up eating too much food, i can sit and eat the whole thing of veggies and dip, and same thing with the watermelon or corn on the cob, i need to work on the portion control when i have parties, i just think it's all the added stress with all the cleaning and cooking, and not having as much time to exercise the stress leads me to the food.    hope everyone is doing well, Linda hopefully the rain will stop soon, and the challenge sounds like a great way to get the motivation going again!

    take care everyone!

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

     Hello

I now belong to the walking wounded.I went for my consultation and i just want to do the 12 challenge, but there right in the middle of one.Of course she tried to sell me her product. But i dont have 200.00 a month to blow on shakes, protein powder and vitimins. But then when i got done i went out to the car and stepped off the curb with flip flops on and ther e were a pile of leaves on the ground and since we have had so much rain they were slipery and down i went.My body went one way and my leg the other. Thank god i didnt do to much damage.my knee is all scraped and my big toe has a big gash on it and its sore, but not broken or sprained. My leg is sore but nothing broken.so im sitting here soaking my toe to get all the dirt out.

We actually had 2 days of fairly nice wheather, but so many people are out sick or a mental health day with rain so many days.

well i need to got and get ready

    Linda

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

Oh Linda hon, how are you feeling? At least now I do not feel like I am the only one outsmarted by those flip flops!! Those things are a danger to our healths! Of course, I can not give mine up!! Do take care of that toe, from personal experience, I can tell you that anything and everything will fall on it!! Patty hon, just hang in there! I am glad that you are getting the elliptical! I still have not gone back to the pool, but am getting into the pool almost daily and am working out there! Judy hon, how are you doing? Hey, the motor was $383 bucks, so we may still be able to go on vacation! Things are really bad at work, first they cut the salaried employees 10% of our salaries, cut off any overtime, for the hourly employees, and now are cutiing two days/month for the hourly employees. Ooh boy, I may need a part time soon, forget the vacation!! I can not take any more forced vacations like last summer! Oh, and I have a wedding to attend and photograpgh with my post bootie on!! Shoild be fun! Let's see who steps on my toe, that will be the person with the black eye for sure!! have a great weekend everyone!! Love,

    Elia

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

i learned my lesson with those flip flops a few years ago, i even had on the better quality leather ones with a good sole on them, but was carry a large plant that i was going to plant and my husband had dug out holes, and there was an extra one that he had put to close to the other plant and was suppose to fill in well needless to say, i tore all the ligaments in the ankle and broke my two smaller toes.  both the dr. and the physical therapist advice against wear flip flops especially the cheap flizzy one that everyone where everywhere now a days, we use to call them thongs and only worn them to the beach. they said that they offer no support, they cause feet to spread especially if you are heavier, and can cause arches to drop and heel acheness.  they advice to buy a better quality sandal that offer an ankle strap and have a good cushion and sole quality. i seldom ever wear anything anymore but my new balance shoes, as i'm getting older my feet look boney they have no body fat,(all the fat is in the butt and thighs)and i have very high aches. this past year i even notice if i go barefoot too much around the house my heels even hurt.  it's funny how we take our feet for granted, after we make them carry all this extra weight we need to treat them better and save ourselves the pain and suffering that flip flop and improper shoe can cause(either from falling or years with lack of support) my advice ditch the flip flops for better quality sandals or good gym shoes, yeah i know it easy just to slip on the flip flops but after all we could all use the toning exercise of bending down to tie shoes or buckle sandals. hope you all have a great weekend and feel better!

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

hello everyone! Patty hon, you are so right! my flip flops are the Crock ones and they are so comfy! But I am definetly bying a pair of sandals with more support. I wear my ecco sneakers most of the time, at least to work and when it is cold, around the house. But flip flops? Asoon as I get home from work, those things go on! Today, I am going to get a pair of real sandals!! It is way too hot to wear sneakers around here! You know, I do have to take care of my feet, since I have always had ankle psoblems, i have not abused my feet too much, execept with the flip flops!! I buy chep clothes but my shoes have to be of the best quality and comfort! Forget the cost there!! Linda hon, how are you feeling? Listen to Patty and ditch the flip flops, do as I say, not as I do!! Hey, I loved your e-mail!! Judy hon, is there any chance that you are behaving??? I have that stupid wedding to attend today!  Started out as a marriage of convenience, now God only knows what the heck it is!! No wonder I never married!! I will let you know whether i do good or not tomorrow. I really should not have any problemas since i will be the photographer and will be running aroiund more than sitting down! I will just make sure that I have a beer ready at all times!! have a great weekend!! Love,

    Elia

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

Okay, different day, I'll give it another try.  Linda, I'm sorry about your accident, but glad you're feeling better.  You are a member of the walking wounded, my toe still feels broken but I haven't gone to the doctor, just banged it again last night going barefoot in the house.  Now I have what apears to be a sprained thumb from tripping in the yard on tree roots (wearing my flip flops) and landing against the fence to keep me from falling all the way down.  I felt my thumb twist, but then thought it was okay and ignored it for three days and now today it's swollen and red.  Yes, those flip flops ought to be outlawed.  How nice of your daughters to throw you a surprise birthday party!  It must have been lots of fun.  Take care of your poor kitty, my daughter's cat lived to be 21 years old, man he was a stinky, scrawny, nasty old man.  A raccoon finally got him.

Elia, I have not seen Ecco sneakers, but I'll bet they're comfortable.  I have a pair of Ecco sandals that are probably my faves.  I agree about spending money on supportive, comfortable shoes.  My feet are a mess anyway, I have a spur on the top of one that is pretty painful, a bunion on one that hurts, flat feet, and to make it all better, my either broken or badly sprained toe.  Imagine if I wasn't wearing good shoes what that would be.    How did the photography go at the wedding?  Did your pay get cut 10% as well as everybody else's?

Pat, so good to hear from you.  It sounds like you're busy, but then how could you not be?  You have the high arches, I have the very flat feet (pronated, it's called).  How are all the little ones?

I have a new puppy, (I told Elia in an email).  His name is Charlie and he is an 11-week old Shih Tzu, a mini-one, he won't weigh more than 6 or 7 pounds full grown.  He is solid black, which is unusual for a Shih Tzu, and so adorable.  He's already figured out how to the use pet door to get in and out.  My other Shih Tzu Spencer, hates him and right now isn't too crazy about me either for bringing him home.  I hope in time if they don't grow to love each other, they will at least tolerate each other.  Spencer growls at him all the time.  I try to give Spencer lots of extra attention and love.  He sleeps on my bed but when I put Charlie on there, Spencer jumps off and goes under the bed and stays there.  The cat Smokey doesn't play any games with Charlie at all, if Charlie approaches him he just smacks him and theyr'e done.

Back to work, I hope this posts.

    Judy

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

Hello everyone! I hope the rest of the walking wounded are doing better! Hey Linda, happy be;lated birthday! babe, I did send you my phone no. sorry it took so long, I rarely check my personal e-mails! Hon, I am so sorry about your cat. I think you may have had to put him to sleep since you have not checked in for a couple of days. Hon, he is no longer suffering, he is in Pet Land, where they all wait for us to get them back. How is that toe? I am healing, at least the shoulder is, the toe? How do you manage from hitting it over and over, again?? Judy hon, how is Charley doing? Hey, now my Jerry does accept Mia on the bed, not that Mia sleeps there, she is prone to really misbehave! Mia does really well in the kennel. Now Dewey? He likes to bite Mia, although he kisses her a lot too! Patty, miss you! I am doing kind of ok, if you consider the 105 cut in pay (yeap Judy, all the saliried co-workers got that) and the two unpaid days off a month (that I am trying to check who else got! along with the 10% off). Hey, any of you know anyone, and I do mean anyone, in this area hiring?? I may need to go panhandlng on those days that I am off without pay!! Heck, if I knew how to really clean houses, I would offer that as a service!! Hey, the shoot, or the picture taking, went kind of ok. I am just not into taking posed sets, and heck if the bride was not set on keeping every single moment on tape. Not complainig here, but I was not only the photographer, but housemate an I are paying for film, developing and CD's! Well, you all take care! My weight? Back up to 141.5!! I am still happy because I am under my 145 mark! Oh, one question for you all, how much fish is bad for you? I am eating fish five to six timesa week!! Salmon, mostly!! Have a great rest of the week! Love,

    Elia

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

Hey Judy i've broke my baby toes several times on the right foot and 1 time on the left, i have very wide span with my toes, and very narrow heels and high arches, so when i use to run around barefoot all the time i'd wack the register vent(the over ground ones that we use to have in the other house) or anything else.  after i hurt them i tried to keep a tighter sock on hoping not to wack it and catch the little toe on things. but of course when something is hurting you seem to bump in more than ever. i tried to  bike ride more on a stationary bike and pushed with my heel then for exercise.  Linda happy birthday belated!  Elia i seldom eat fish so i don't know how much is too much, i know they base it on the amount of mercury in it, and whether it is freash water fish or farm raised.

well i got a new 5 day old baby today so i'm not sure how often i'll be popping in. the baby is related to the little one i had almost 2yrs ago, my friend is in the process of adopting the almost 2yr old (which is only her 1st foster/adopted child) she has 4 of her own at home, but fell in love with the little one when i had him, then i needed to let him go in order to get the 2 brothers of my twins. which i got but lost because the other foster mom had connections and won them back on an appeal.  so we're all excited to have a new little one in the house, i'm just getting ready for his 2am feeding. i'll pop in when i can.

Re: Elia, Linda, Lizzy, Patty, Kimberley, Buzz, Judy, Where Are You?

Hi gurls, (when I say that it reminds me of Buzz, I wonder how she is doing).  Patty, a five-day old?  I feel for you!  Having a puppy who wakes you up at night is one thing, but an infant, whew, you have some kind of stamina, you do.  The baby is lucky to get such a wonderful mother though.  Patty, I too have a wide toe box, and I think part of my problem is that I did bang that toe again about a week ago, just when I thought if was finally getting better.  What do you do for a broken toe?  Anything?  I gave up and made a doctor's appointment for 3:45 today, so I guess I'll find out.

Elia, Charley is doing well.  He spent the night at Renee's again because her son wanted him this time.  Renee' is working at home today so she is just having a great time watching him play with her very large English Mastiff, Nana.  Spencer had a night off from running from him and I was able to give him lots of attention and love.  Wow, a $105 pay cut would kill me, I can see why you're looking for other work.  Who was the one who used to deliver phone books?  She seemed to have a lot of fun doing that.  I think Patty is right about the fish, the mercury depends on whether they're farm raised or wild.  What have you done, switched from shrimp to fish?  Try Petrale Sole, that's some good eating.

Linda, how are you doing?  What is the update on your cat?

    Back to work for now.

    Love, Judy
