    MY weight is to slow

I'm 5'5 and weight 219, I'm taking in 1200 to 1300 calories a day and 29 to 35 grams of fat per day. I'm only losing 1 to 2 lbs a week. Alli wants me on 1800 calories a day so how can i lose with that if i'm losing so slow now with a lower amount ? Please let me know whats going on with this.

     Hi Janiegraffia,

Have you read these two threads?

***READ FIRST - Why you need to reach your fat grams

***READ FIRST - Why you need to reach your calorie goals
    http://community.myalli.com/forums/t/19330.aspx

Once you have read them, the Alli plan will make sense. I started started out 5'1" and 175.5lbs. Alli recommended 1800 calories for me too! I followed the plan and began losing weight immediately.

I thought it was too many calories and fat, but it really does work. At 144.2lbs, I'm no longer eating 1800 calories. Alli adjusted my calorie/fat grams along the way and I'm now on the 1400 calorie plan.

You have nothing to lose (except weight! LOL) by following the recommendations.

Re: MY weight is to slow

The less calories you take the harder for your body to lose any weight.  Also, a very low calorie diet may slow down your metabolism, making your weight loss very difficult.

When you get a chance read the top two post in this forum - it will help you understand this process better.

     Hello toollady1987

Your story is very encouraging!! I'm am starting at the same weight as you did but I'm an inch taller. I am also having a hard time believing that I need to eat 1800 calories a day. I'm so used to only eating bewteen 1200-1400. I'm having a hard time getting it all in!!!

I'm so afraid to start eating that much. I don't want to gain anymore! I really struggle to lose!!! (low thyroid and on HRT)

I am moderately active. I do Jazzercize 3 x a week. DId you also exercise?

Re: MY weight is to slow

    Hi pamperedinvt,

I joined a gym the end of April and went religiously for a month. Then, the kids were out of school for the summer so I haven't been back since June 8th.

Kids went back to school this week and I did hit the gym twice this week. (I was going 5x a week, when I was going).

I didn't do any exercise during the summer break, but plan to get back up to at least 3X a week.
