    "treatment effects"

If you are going to have treatment effects, how soon will it come on?  I just had a salad with chicken, croutons and dressing.  It was 18g of fat and I should stay at 19g.  I'm just worried because I have a 1:00 meeting. yikes!

btw it's my first day taking pills, that's why I'm so paranoid. :)

I am sure that you were fine for your meeting.  You are right there in line with your target fat grams.  I don't ususally have TE's (which I haven't had in a very long time) for 12-48 hours after eating too much fat.  The only food I really have a problem with is pepperoni pizza. !!

My meeting was cancelled, but as it turns out I was fine.  I was good all day yesterday so I super happy with this product.  How long have you been on it?

ps. I LOVE pepperoni pizza...I'll watch out for that. :)

    Re: "treatment effects"

I have been on alli since 10/7/07.  I lost about 15 pounds initially.  I took a break during the late Spring and Summer.  I didn't loose any weight while I was on my "break" but I only gained about 3 pounds which I had kept off until the past month!!  I am back on track and back to trying to get my exercise routine back.  This has been difficult because of not being able to find much "me" time.  I have 2 very active teenage girls and all of my energy and times seems to be directed towards them.

I lost a pound this week and am happy to have made progress towards my goal.  I weighed in at 156 this morning.

Have a great weight loss week.  Keep in touch!

    Re: "treatment effects"

be careful with eating over the fat grams. I eat per meal between 8 to 10 or 11 grams of fat. I don't play with those treatment affects. I took alli back in November 2007 and I experieinced those affects when i went over. It wasn't pretty. . Now that I have started taking it again I am more concious of the fat grams as well as the calories that I eat. I have had no treatment affects and eat fiber one yogurt to keep from getting constipated. even when i went to wendy;s to eat i had a grilled chicken sandwhich and baked potatoe which totalled 11grams of fat. And I was full. Be careful those treatment effects come it seem when you out and about doign things. Or worse driving and can't get to the the bathroom!!!

    Re: "treatment effects"

    Hi Kamoore921,

Welcome to the board! Most people do not have to worry about treatment effects with anything that has less than 20 grams of fat in it. When you do go above this level you MAY experience an effect 24 to 72 hours later. There is no way to know if it will happen or exactly when it would happen. Once it does start the only way to stop it is to let all of the oil get excreted. It's best not to test this so do everything that you can to stick with your recommended amount of fat.

Let me know if you have any other questions,

    Betty Kovacs, MS, RD

    Re: "treatment effects"

    Hi Empiregirl17,

The only way to know if you are consuming too much fat is to keep track of your intake. Once you see the number of grams that you are consuming you can cut back if you need to. What you are experiencing could be something completely unrelated to your diet. You could have a stomach flu, an infection, or food poisoning. You can give the product customer service line a call at 1-800-671-2554 (M-F 10am – 6pm ET) to determine if this is a side effect of alli.

Let me know how you are doing,

    Betty Kovacs, MS, RD

    Re: "treatment effects"

This is going to sound very ODD but, I think I may be the only person who actually doesn't mind the "Treatment Effects"

The reason:  I have IBS with Constipation and was taking Zelnorm - they took that off the market and I take Amitiza which does not work 1/2 as good as Zelnorm did.

Well, since taking Alli for the past couple of weeks ago, I have TA's just about every day!  Why do I not mind so much you may ask?????

I actually go to the bathroom every singe day!    I just turned 45 years old and have never been able to go to the bathroom more than 3 times a week since as far back as I can remember!

No more horrific stomach aches and misery from constipation!

So far I have lost 7 pounds and counting!

Guess I'm killing 2 birds with one stone!

    Re: "treatment effects"

Jamierocks- I too don't midn the treatment effects - It is so nice to have a BM evryday, even 2-3 times a day! Now, I haven't had any explosive, uncontrollable bouts - but I don't think I will as long as I stay within my fat gram parameters.

One question - my BM's are not really ever solid since taking Alli. Is this normal?

Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!
