     Lynn - I'm glad you got away for Gustav.  I find I do much better if I have a challenge that holds me accountable for the basics on nutrition and exercise.  I hope you are well.  I would guess that we'll do something for an October challenge and I hope you join in. - Jane

    Kari - Thanks for the welcome back.  I had a direct flight to Tallahassee, FL; I had to go for training.  I worked in Tallahassee from 2001 through 2003 so it was nice to see many former friends from work. Delta lost my luggage on the direct flight, so I had no breathing machine (when I sleep, I use a CPAP machine) and no toiletries or fresh clothing for the first 24 hours (the hotel staff kindly gave me a toothbrush and tooth paste). Each day after class, I worked on e-mail corresponding with my work location.  I usually got back to the hotel @ 7:30 so I only found time for a cardio workout on 2 evenings.  I didn't track but I didn't feel that I ate high calorie stuff, either.  Whatever I did, on Saturday, the scale confirmed that I gained weight (very frustrating!!).  Overall, it was pretty exhausting but I learned a lot and it should help me in the new position that I started back in May.  I feel like I finally got back into the swing of things today with the cardio and weight workout.

     Hi everyone.....I have been unable to post...been evacuated for hurricaine IKE...and in locked down mode in the hospital....we still have no power,water,sewer or food/waterice..but we are safe ...

    Jane: Wow it sounds like kind of a stressful trip. I usually notice that my weight is up after I fly. I think it has to do with water retention from the plane. I wonder if that's what caused your weight gain.

    Not such a great day ... I'm behind at work following last week's seminar so now I'm playing catch up.

    Melissa - Glad to hear you're safe though it sounds like a very rough work assignment.  Wishing you the best!

    Kari - I've had problems with weight gain after a flight, too.  I've also had problems with dehydration when I fly.  Apparently, at times, that "no point drinking something now, I'll just need to use the restroom on the flight" gets me in trouble.  However, the direct flight - actual flying time for this flight - is only 34 minutes.  Of course, one must still sit around the airport for 2 hrs. to take the 34 min flight.

    Melissa - Glad to hear you are safe. I am praying for you and all in Ike's path.  That was horrendous - I have survived my share and will continue to send my prayers along to you all.  Thanks for letting us know you are safe.

    As far as my points -

    9/11 - Nutrition: 1 pt; cardio - 2 pts; weighing in  - 1 pt = 4 pts.

    9/12 - Nutrition: 1pt; cardio - 2 pts; = 3pts

    9/13 - cardio 2 pts = 2 pts (Cannoli day!  )

    9/14 - Nutrition: 1 pt; cardio 2 pts (ran the brooklyn bridge! ) = 3pts

    9/15 - Nutrition 1 pt; cardio 2 pts = 3pts

    9/16 - Day of rest: 1 pt; Nutrition: 1 pt; logging in: 1 pt = 3 pts

    Back on tract until Friday, when i have decided to start over. I have been in nextphase for about a month and cant get the scale to move, so I plan to restart with renewed determination to reclaim that 10 and 20 pound badge to hit goal.

    Laura - How does one start over with Alli?  For the last couple of weeks, I've also been in "Next Phase" and I'd like to start over.  I just think the weekly steps and weekly weigh in is more helpful then what's available in "Next Phase.'  Thanks in advance.

    All - It's my turn to count points for the last week, so I'll start working on that tomorrow.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  Considering that I haven't made it to the gym in two days, I still think, all things considered, that things are going pretty well for me.

    When you log in, underneath the boxes on the right side near the bottom there is a place to click to start over. (The Check in box will be at the top right on this page). This will reset your weight and calories and 'start you over' from where you are at the time you do it.   I like the Friday weigh-in -- so I am going to restart this Friday morning. 

    Some gals dont like to start over because you lose your weight loss badges and it appears on your profile that you are starting again from the beginning. I am doing it for the incentive to re-earn those badges and also have the help again from the steps and weekly check in, which, for me, I feel will push me into the lower numbers on the scale.

    Got up and did a really good cardio workout this morning....I'll log tonight - this will give me incentive now to not lose control in the nutrition dept!
