    2nd time on Alli

First time I took this med it was not over the counter, but called Xenical. It cost me over $150 a month for a 30 day supply. I took it for a month needless to say because I could not afford it. Anyhow, I was thrilled to find out that it is now offered over the counter. In the first week of taking Xenical (120mg) I lost 6 pounds. In the second week I lost another 5lbs, and so on. At the end of my 30 day supply I had lost a total of 23 pounds!! However after I stopped I gained it all back and then some, LOL! Right now I am 177lbs 5’3 and wanting to lose about 50lbs. I was always small until I had children then that all changed. My goal is by Christmas I will have lost at least 35lbs. But I do have one question. Do you think doubling up like taking 2 capsules (120mg prescription strength) would be safe to do?

Also FYI, Walgreens has a $10 off coupon in there sales ad this week! J

    Re: 2nd time on Alli

    Hi Sweetaspie872,

Welcome to the board! My suggestion is to stick with the recommendations and take one pill per meal. If you want to take the prescription strength you need to see your doctor and get the prescription. You will lose 1 to 3 lbs per week by following your plan. I know that it would feel great to lose faster, but that won't be healthy. The goal is to keep your weight loss off and 1 to 3 lbs per week is the healthiest rate.

Let me know if you have any other questions,

    Betty Kovacs, MS, RD
