    At a stand still

ok I have been on Alli for 2 months. I did lose 15 lbs in the first month but nothing in the second month. And I feel like I am all puffy and fluffy now... when I lost it I felt slim and wonderful.  I walk the dog every night with my husband... we do about a 10-15 min walk.(he just started yesterday with the alli diet and is doing it with me) I watch what I eat and I try really hard to get the 19 grams per meal. Am I supposed to eat all 1800 cal a day??? Do I need to eat a snack too? I don't know what I am doing wrong.  I know that the pills work. They did in the beginning. Please help. I need to get this extra weight off so I can be healthy... I am so scared that if I don't get this off I will end up getting diabetes like my grandfather had.

    Thanks

    Amy

    Re: At a stand still

Congratulations on your weight loss so far.  That's a great accomplishment!  It sounds like you may be at a plateau - a time when the body decides to take a "time out" to adjust to all the changes - and your weight loss will resume.  You might want to take a look at a few things to get it going again.

If you are feeling "fluffy and puffy" you might want to take a look at your Nutrition Logs and check your sodium intake.  The recommended amount is 2,300 milligrams - or less - per day.  If the levels are 3,000 mgs. or above you may be retaining water.  That will hide a weight loss and leave you feeling bloated.  Reducing sodium/salt intake is the way to get rid of it.

Sometimes it's a good idea to start weighing and measuring everything you eat and drink for a week or two.  That's the best way to ensure accuracy + it's a great lesson in learning what portion sizes "look" like.  Sometimes some extra calories can sneak in and it's just enough to hold weight rather than show a loss.

Yes, it's important to have the recommended amount of calories and fat for best results with alli.  There are two great posts on why calories and fat are so important.  Try to take a look when you have a chance; it's great information.

Finally, it may help to increase the amount and intensity of your walks.  Your body gets accustomed to a certain level of exercise, and then a change is needed.  Walk faster, longer to get a better effect.

I hope this helps.  Please let me know if you need anything else.
