    Re: Eat To Live Book????

    Hi Janet,

I have not read this one. I did a quick review of it and it looks like the recipes are a popular section in this book. I do not know if the author has any education in nutrition or where the nutrition advice comes from. Is there something that you are looking for in a book? I will try to recommend something that I have read if I can.

    Re: Eat To Live Book????

      Hi .Betty.

I have been on Alli over a year. I had a gain of 7lbs. from Over all the Summer holidays.

I just could not get it off even with doing Alli to the letter.

So last week I went back on line  low carb friends.

I did for 2 days Intermittent fasting. were my window was 12-5pm . stopped eating after 5pm.

It worked. 2 days.2lbs gone. And a friend wanted to know if I would do a Liq. fast for 3 days. I said yes and did but I felt so good I went and did 5 days.

I have a Jack lanne juicer and I made fresh juice and veg.and made broth.

Weigh in was This Monday and I lost 7lbs.

Even now with 3 days back to healthy eating and watching for this week. For I know you can gain all back.{But No gain.

I go exerice 4-5 days aweek.and I feel great. Now you will say why another diet book??I like to read and learn.

But I would really like to find a good book about fasting for heath. And I do think a short fast done right is good for you. And I would say most DRS. do to. BUT you Must be careful and listen to body.

The book I was asking about Dr. OZ even said good book and it is healthy. But it is low cal. and fat.

1200cals.   but that is what I'm doing with Alli.

Maybe my body was used to Alli and I just needed to do something diff.

Like when I started back to eating I still take Alli when fat grams are more then 5.

IS there fasting for heath books out there??

    Thanks

    Re: Eat To Live Book????

    Hi Janetk,

Most people call liquid diets fasts, but a true fast is one with no nutrients at all and I do not recommend that. You can choose to follow a liquid diet for limited periods, but need to do so with caution. Losing weight too quickly by severe calorie restrictions can be dangerous for your health, especially your heart. Please speak with your doctor if you have any medical conditions or are taking any medications.

Meal replacements, like Slim Fast, are made to provide essential nutrients. You need to get carbs, protein, and fat in your diet and you won't get these from only consuming juice. Slimfast has sponsored many studies on the effectiveness of their products. Take a look at what they have available on their site and let me know what you think.
