    i'm considering alli

I  am doing some research and reading some of the comments on the forum....

I am thinking about trying alli.... I want to lose around 30 lbs. i  was just wondering about  a comment on the site  :

If you follow a reduced-calorie, low-fat diet, get regular physical activity alli will work.

BUT wouldnt that also work without alli  ?     it s   just  haarder   ?

From what im reading you eat to much fat and you are staying in the bathroom ?  I guess this would be considered just a getting a little help in following a diet plan ?

    Thanks for any input.....

    Re: i'm considering alli

    Hi cajwwew,

In order to lose weight you need to burn more calories than you consume. For a weight loss plan to work you need to reduce your caloric intake, by incorporating exercise you increase the burning off of those calories as well as increasing your fitness and developing a plan to keep the weight off.  Alli aids by creating an additional caloric deficit by blocking about 25% of the consumed fat.  By following the alliplan you are eating moderate fat which is the amount that is recommended by the ADA and other associations.  When you go over the fat gram target you can then experience treatment effects and this is not how the weight is lost but  motivates you to stay on track.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: i'm considering alli

I am a member of Weight Watchers and following a low fat, reduced calorie, high fiber diet and exercising.  In three weeks I was losing less than one lb a week.  After four days of alli , with no other changes, my weight loss for that week was 3.6 lbs.   I realize I can't continue at that rate but I believe the number was a result of the alli.  I am 50 yrs old and just wanted a little help with the weight loss.  Treatment effects have been almost nothing and knowing what they are - it's easy to avoid temptation.
