    Don't give up this works!!!

Hi all My name is Stacy and I am a firm believer in Alli. I have always had a weight problem and have been on every diet you can imagine each time I came off I gained back what I had lost plus a few extra. I was also diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes in 2000. I started taking Alli in July 2007 with a starting weight of 242 lbs. I am presently down 82lbs. I started out just taking Allie and changed a few of my eating habits. As the weight started to decrease I really started changing the way I ate, I also started walking several days a week. I learn thru trial and error that the increased amount of water helped move the fat thru. I now walk 4 to 6 miles every day and I feel so much better and my diabetes is back in control. I am down to 160lbs and hope to lose an additional 20lbs to reach my goal, Which is to be 140lbs before my 40th birthday.

So I'm telling you don't give up it really works!!

Thanks Alli for giving me my life back!!

Stacey, I was about to finish up my last bottle of Alli and say forget it, this is just not working for me, but I'm going to continue with Alli one more time because you said it works. I've been on it 8 weeks now with no weight loss and yes I do everything I'm supposed to including exercise and lot's of water.

    Thanks for the post.

    I am highly favored !

Re: Don't give up this works!!!

Favored13, don't give up please! I wanted so bad to give up a few weeks ago because I thought I couldn't do it, but as I was dialing for pizza I realized that I do this everytime. For years I would go shopping and want to wear those clothes on the "normal" rack, but I have been wearing plus sizes for years. I knew if I gave up I would be back at my starting point in 6 months anyways so why not just do it now and enjoy life happier! I am so sorry to hear you haven't had the results you would like, but diets are like shoes- everyone has a differnt style that works for them. I have even seen it on the Biggest Loser Australisa. season 2 Adro was a guy who was working out hard, but not losing alot of weight. He switched his diet and in the end he won the season. You can do it! I personally amped my workout to an hour a day and halted on losing weight. Now, I work out stepping 30 minutes a day and have had better luck. Try moving your diet around and see if it helps. I know if I dont have enough fat it slows down for me, but you could be differnt. Please keep reaching for you dreams because afterall we deserve to be happy!

    Best wishes,

    Erica

Favored13, Don't give up!  It really does work, just remember that with exercise your weight may not change or may even increase a little because as you know muscle weighs more than fat!! This was very hard for me in the beginning because I so desparately wanted to see the numbers dropping. Keep doing what you are doing and make sure you are no eating to many simple carbs it tends to slow the process.

    Best of luck!

WOW - 82 lbs!  I want to be saying that this time next year!!!  It has been a little over 3 months now and I feel pretty good - like I am on the right track and am noticing changes, not only in my body, but the way that I am thinking is beginning to change as well.  I am feeling sexier and happier overall - especially when I go to put on clothes that I had to lay on the bed to zip up and now can zip up with ease.

Your story is inspirational, thank you for sharing!!!!

Thanks for posting your success story, Stacy.  I am just starting and it is so encouraging to see someone who lost that much.  Hopefully someday I will pay it forward by inspiring a newbie myself.

     Stacy,

Congratulations! This is a great motivational message.  In reference to your above post about not eating too many simple carbs.  What types of foods are simple carbs?

Thank you for sharing your story.

ok, I have lost 9 pounds since I started but am having a real hard time eating enough fat grams!! So, i want to ask you, what exactly are you eating for breakfast and lunch?  I stay under the 1600 calories per day and 17 grams of fat per meal but am not seeing the results I expected.  I am ready to throw in the towel and give up but i am 40 years old and the mom of a 21 month old, so I am doing this for myself but need some help!!! I welcome and appreciate all replys!!

    Great job Stacey!

Favored13: I know how you feel. I have been on alli since August 3, 2008, and I haven't lost any weight! The first week I gained 5lbs, although I was very constipated. It took another month to loose that weight, but since then...nothing...I'm right where I started. I am going to hang in there...I plan on staying on alli for another 8 weeks to see what happens. Just like you, I eat right and exercise (I chopped a cord of wood on Saturday, and play tennis three times a week for two hours each time).

    Good luck and keep trying.

Re: Don't give up this works!!!

Congrats on the 9 lbs. Lean Cuisine actually does help with the fat grams, also eating the Smart Ones for weight watchers is a good one. It makes it a little easier to get the gram and calories in.

Don't give up. It took a while to get the weight on and it will take a while to get it off the right way!!  I am 42 as of the 8th and have battled the bulge all of my life. Then I found Alli and it has given me a kind of light at the end of the tunel, so to speak. It has taught me how to eat better and smaller but mostly wiser. The longer you are using the Alli the better and easier it will get and be.

    Keep up the good work!!!

Re: Don't give up this works!!!

For those of you who are discouraged and thinking about giving up, think about how much better you feel now, even if you haven't lost any weight.  You know that changing your eating habits has improved your physical health.  I'll bet your blood pressure is lower, your cholesterol is lower, heart palpitations have ceased, chest pains have stopped, you have more energy.  That is enough right there, even if you never lose any weight, to keep you on this diet.  I've been doing this for well over a year, and I am thankful everyday for how much better I feel.  This is a way of life, whether you continue with alli or give it up, don't give up your new eating habits.  If nothing else, alli teaches us how to use nutrition to our benefit.  Good luck, quit worrying about statistics, and hang in there.

    Hi Stacy,

Excellent!!!  Thanks for sharing your experience and hope with us.  I am down 32 pounds and definitely feel better.  May I ask if you ended up with any saggy skin?  I exercise 5 times a week and am hoping it will help prevent it.  Tampabayb
