    A Fresh New Start

Ok, so I have fallen off from my alli plan and decided to start back at square one.  I have been so very busy lately I haven't had a chance to come and visit with everyone.  So I am waving to everyone from my little home here in NY!  I hope all of you have a great day.

I am doing alli as recommended by my doctor.  I have many health issues that he hopes to see inmprove with my weight loss.  I am a big wimp with will power and sticking to my goals.  I tend to wander and I know that I need to improve this.  My DD is working with me now so we can both lose the weight and get healthier.  You would think that chasing after my little granddaughter I would be thin but nope!  No such luck.  LOL

Anyway, I am starting fresh with my goals today.  I weighed in this morning at a very heavy 285 pounds.  That is my starting weight and I will be going from there.  My ultimate Goal Weight is 175.  It will be a very long road but I have to do it.  If I fail to have lost enough weight by February then I will have to undergo the dreaded weight loss surgery option.  I really don't want to do that.  So from today on, I am looking forward and not back.  I hope I will still have some buddies to lean on for my journey.  Are you still around Katie and Amanda?  I sure hope you haven't given up on me but would completely understand if you did.  It is no one's fault but my own for giving up too easily.

Here is to my fresh start today.  I pray that I will be able to stay focused and be given the strength and power to overcome this obesity as quickly and safely as possible.  Thank you alli for a great product that does work when taken properly.  When I started the very first time I was 288 pounds.  I had lost 6 pounds and then gained back the six pounds plus two additional pounds putting me at an all time high of 290 pounds.  I started back on alli last Friday (9/19/08) and weighed in today and saw a weight loss of five pounds.  I will take that and run with it.

Wishing each of you success in your goals.  Blessings to all.

    Happy Hugs,

    Shelley

    Re: A Fresh New Start

(((((((Shelley!)))))))  I was wondering what happened to you and where you went!  I am glad to see your post!  And glad that you have not given up on Alli!  I bet with your daughter's help and support, you both will be on your way to your goals real soon.  Does she get online to post here at Alli?  Would love to meet her and lend her support as well.  I am always here to lend support and encouragement.  I may not post every day, but I try to.  I try to post at least once a day anyway.  Don't forget, if you start to stray from the plan, PLEASE come her to the boards!  It has really helped me.  When I see how well others are progressing it keeps me focused and I want to continue on.  Believe me, there have been days where I want to sit down and just eat bad choices, but then I come here and realize that I want to lose weight more than anything and that is what I am doing Alli for.  I paid money for Alli, money that could have gone to something else, but it was my choice to do so and I don't want to waste my money by not following through with the plan.  I am on a mission, lol, to lose at least 10-15 pounds by Christmas.  Two and a half months.  I am sure I can do it.  We are going to spend a day in St. Augustine (FL) in December and I want to look nice to have some photos taken with the kids and my husband.  (If anyone gets a chance to go to FL, check out St. Augustine-it is beautiful-I love it there!  And it's only 45 minutes from where we live!)  So that is my goal to myself-not a mini goal, more of a personal goal.  Anyway....I guess I'm rambling......lol.

    Keep up the great work!

    Re: A Fresh New Start

((((((Katie & Amanda))))))  What a great way to start my day.  Hugs from my buddies!  LOL  I am here and ready to tackle another day with my alli, meals and workouts.  I have been all over the house this morning.  I got up at 5:30 and was running all over the place getting everything ready for a sewing project I had to get done today.  Woo hoo!  It is finished and it's only 9:00.

My daughter hasn't been here on alli but I hope she will consider it.  She tends to be a little shy about sharing when it comes to her weight.  I'm going to talk to her again about joining so she can meet my wonderful buddies.

I have another very busy day ahead and need to get moving.  Thank you for sticking with me.  I appreciate it so much.  Do either of you know how we can stay in touch outside of alli?  Let me know if you know how this can be done.

Have a beautiful and blessed day sweeties.  =)

    Happy Hugs,

    Re: A Fresh New Start

Sandy, hope you are feeling a lot better and glad you are on track with us.  It's hard to stick with it when you are ill, but persistance is the key and it looks like you are doing good by sticking with it.  Keep it up!  I'm proud of you!

Shelley, I do not know of a way to keep in touch while off the message boards-I think I read somewhere that it is not allowed.  I think it would help, especially when we can get to the boards to post.  Keep up the great work!  And try to get your daughter on here, would love to meet her!  She doesn't have to talk about her weight, she can talk about something else, like what she wants to get out of the program.  Even if she decides she doesn't want to join in, let her know I am thinking of her and wish her great success at her weight loss journey.  I am sure with your help and support she will do this.  You have each other to encourage along the way, and you can let her know I support her as well. :-)

Got to go!  Got to take my kids to school.  Have a wonderful day!

    Re: A Fresh New Start

Hi buddies.  It's good to have read everyone's posts.

Sandy it is good to see you posting again too.  Stay focused on the goal of getting healthier and lighter.  I fell to the wayside and am back on track again.  It happens to some of us.  I am here cheering you on.  Hang in there sweetie.

Katie, I will tell my DD what you said.  I am sure she will appreciate it.  I wonder why it isn't allowed for us to contact one another outside of this forum?  Seems a bit odd to me.  Some lifelong friendships could be made here.  It's really too bad. =(

I was up early to start my day.  I have a busy day again (I don't see it changing anytime soon).  I need to go grab a small bite to eat and then move forward with my day.  I hope everyone has a successful alli day!  Blessing to all. =)

    Happy Hugs,

    Re: A Fresh New Start

    Shelley,

I am so happy to see you back posting.  I know how life can be sometimes and keep you from doing what is best for you.  I often get too busy with my girls to remember to take care of my self.  Even when I don't post, I try to atleast read a couple from others. The posts keep me motivated even when I don't lose weight that week.  I know this is a slow process and life change.

Have a great fresh start. We are all in this together!!

    Re: A Fresh New Start

Thank you Candace.  I am still plugging along.  Things are going well so far.  Tomorrow is my weigh-in day.  I haven't been on the scale since last Sunday so I haven't any idea if I've lost or gained.  I'm kind of looking forward to seeing that, to be honest.  I know.  Who ever looks forward to getting on a scale, right?  LOL

I have been so very busy in my personal life these days.  That is a good thing.  It keeps out of the food pantry and refrigerator too.  LOL  I bought some of those sugar free puddings (60 calories) and enjoy those when I am craving something.  Thank you so much for sharing about those Amanda.

I hope everyone has been staying focused on their goals this past week.  I may not get too often these days but I think of all of you each day.

Blessings to everyone.  I'll try to drop in later.  If not later then I will be here tomorrow to post about my weigh-in.  Have a fabulous weekend.

    Re: A Fresh New Start

Hi Shelley!  Nice to see your post.  I think of you often and glad you are back on track with the program.  It really does work if you stick with it!  I'm still here, doing my thing with Alli, and losing weight along the way.  I'm hoping for a little weight loss this week-my period is due in a week and a half so I don't expect a huge amount of weight loss, but I'll take anything as long as it isn't a GAIN!

Hope to see you posting again and can't wait to see your progress!  Take care and tell your daughter hello!

    Re: A Fresh New Start

Hi sweet Katie!  I did my check-in yesterday and weighed in at 284!  I have lost 6 pounds since restarting my alli.  I am so happy about that.  I hope to see more of a loss next week.  maybe a couple more pounds?  LOL

I think of you too sweetie.  I've been very busy these days.  I'm getting some things ready for a class I will be teaching at the end of the month.  I am busy getting things ready for making the quilt for my dear friend who has breast cancer, organizing some crafts to do with my GD, preparing for a scrapbooking class I am going to attend with my daughter.  Things are very busy.  And with the holidays fast approaching I will be even busier.  I love it though!  Busy and me do well together.

I hope you are doing well.  I had a hysterectomy when I was 26 years old but I still get the bloating, tender breasts, etc but not the monthly visitor.  The worst is that I still go through the cravings as well.  Last Dr. appointment the Dr. told me my labs are indicating the beginning of menopause.  How wonderful!  LOL  Gotta do what I gotta do.

I will try to get back here tomorrow to post.  Stay on the wonderful course you're on.  You are doing wonderful and are such an inspiration to me.  Thank you for still thinking of me.  I feel like I have let you down and then i come here and there you are cheering me on.  You are the best buddy I have ever had.  Thank you for that sweetie.  sending you special hugs.  Have a blessed day.  Until later....

    Re: A Fresh New Start

Hello... reading your post, it has given me some inspiration to try again. I started Alli last year in november and by february, i had lost 27 pounds! then i got sick and fell off. I had to get my gallbladder removed and am finding it tad bit hard to loose weight. I was afraid to try alli again because i didnt want to seem like i was wasting my time... trying then failing, trying then failing... but to see you get back on track and doing it for your health has motivated me to do it again too. Thank you and you hang in there! Remember... rome wasnt built in a day. LOL.

    Good luck and God Bless!

    Re: A Fresh New Start

Shelley, please don't ever think you have let me down!  I have never thought that, I have been concerned and worried when you haven't posted in a few days to a week or so, and I realize that you do get very busy as many of us here do.  I just want you to know that I do think of you when you don't post-and love to give you encouragement when you do post :-)  You are my buddy and a great one!  You are very encouraging and a great motivator!  I wish you all the best in life and in this weight loss journey that we take together.  With support from each other we will reach our goals!  Even when I reach my goal, I will continue to post here because I believe support will help keep me focused on what I have achieved.

Stay strong.  Stay focused.  Stay on the plan.  I'm thinking of you.  Tell your daughter I'm rooting for her as well :-)
