    Just starting...

    Today is a brand new day!  I've followed Weight Watchers for nearly two years now, and have had great success.  I'm at a plateau now and I think Alli is the ticket to getting me to goal.  I'm starting today at 172 lbs., and I have a goal of 142.  I'd like to be at 50% of my goal by Christmas, which I think is TOTALLY ATTAINABLE.  I love reading all of the great success stories on this forum.  It's very positive and encouraging.  Wish me luck!

    hi there!   i'm just starting too.   i picked up the pills last week and was nervous to take them while i was working.   i followed the diet all week and took my first pill last night.   i feel healthier already!   i've done weight watchers for a long time and it just stopped working for me.  i'd lose 4 lbs in 2 weeks, eat something bad and gain 3 lbs back - very frustrating!   my weight when i began was at an almost all time high of 167 lbs!   like you, i'm looking to get to around 140 lbs - i was hoping to BE there by christmas!   obviously unrealistic, but i'm very hopeful.   good luck to you!   take a look at the recipes - i just made the beef and barley stew and it was awesome!   good for anyone - my son, who is 6'2" and 157 lbs just ate it and loved it!!   again, good luck!

     Good luck to the both of you! Tomorrow will be my first day. I would like to get down to 160 lbs, I am currently at 185 lbs.

     I started yesterday...I'm 170...and like you hoping for the Christmas goal!!!  I felt a little shaky this a.m., but I attribute that to the cutback in calories yesterday.  I'm hoping to start hitting the gym again next week.

     I'm at 185 pounds and am trying to go down to 145 pounds and I don't care how long it takes me. I'm sick of feeling bad about my body and have been feeling bad about my body since 2002ish. I have not started taking the pills yet, but have started the diet already and have gone down from 190 already, just eating the low fat diet. I start taking the pills on the ninth. (My doctor encouraged me to start slow because I have a medical condition). I'm so excited! I already feel a huge sense of accomplishment just in eating right and have already noticed a change in my body and face that is exciting and makes me want to do more to do BETTER! We should all encourage each other!

     Reading all the posts gives me hope.  I tried Weight Watchers while in college and I did pretty well, until I thought I could do it on my own and gave up.  Then I started on birth control and before I knew it I was up to 200 lbs!!!  I'm now fluctuating between 185-190 depending on what time of the day I weigh in at.  The doctors scale put me at 191. Whatever my weight may be at the time, it's time to go down!!!  My ultimate goal is 145, but I'm just trying to make it to 179 first.  I start my meal plan tomorrow and then pills start on Friday.  I'm kinda scared of the side effects.  Anyone have any yet?

     Hi Michelle,

    I started Alli a week ago today. I've lost 6lbs!!! I'm really excited by that but I know that's the first weeks jumpstart so next week should be more typical. I have had any side effects with the exception of a little gas. Cross my heart. I had a friend scare me straight before I got started and boy what a help that was. I have been really concious of what goes into my mouth because me in a diaper would not be cute :) I found that there are so many foods with little or no fat so that really helps. Read the labels if you don't believe me. Rice, Sandwich bread (I use Nature's Own Light Honey Wheat), Fat free salad dressings, Mayo, deli meats, vegetables and minestrone soup's. Chicken, Steak, etc... I even have desert every single night. I'm not sure where you live but Skinny Cow icecream's rock!!! Don't be afraid just take control back and as my friend said to me " the fat is gone one way or the other, either by you not putting it in your mouth or by you putting it in and running like hell to the bathroom to have it come out". I don't know about you but running ruins my hair :)

     hey michelle - you're doing this exactly the way i did.  i started the diet last monday and started the pills that friday.  i lost 4.5 lbs the first week!   as far as side effects the first couple of nights i had some cramping and discomfort, felt kind of bloated and gassy but that subsided after a couple of days.   no visible sign of side effects if you know what i mean!   i where a pad everyday because i'm nervous.   my issue right now is i don't have enough fat and i'm trying to manage that.   i'm anxious to hear how you do after you start the pills - good luck!   annmarie

    Good Luck!! I'm excited as well to be starting over. I started my pill on a Friday and was very comfortable with taking it...I watch everything and I'm very picky about my food. I'm going to to go try the soup, because that sounds really good....My current weight is 163 and I'm hoping to get down to 130lbs. I'm like everyone else I need to get down to at least 15 - 20lbs before Christmas and I think it's attainable. I really need to push my exercise and I have got to make it a point to get out there and exercise and quit making excuses!!! So good luck!!!

     Hi I also did weight watchers many times.  This last time I did it I lost 28 lbs.  Since then I gained 15lbs back.  I started alli last wednesday and tomorrow is my first check in.  I started at 170 and they gave me a goal of 162.  But I want to go down to 150.  I have my son's wedding in June of 2009.  I hope to be there by then.
