    Re: Help!! I need Motivation

Hey Cyndi, Congratulations on your 50 pound weight loss!  That is very good, and I'm proud of you!  It's ok to be frustrated.  It happens to all of us.  Just keep with the program, write down EVERYTHING you eat and drink-you might be consuming more calories and/or fat than you realize.  Step up your workout-do something you've never done, like, if you always walk, try to jog for a few minutes, etc.  Cut back on a few calories, 200 less per day would be a good start.  Are you feeling stressed?  That can cause us to gain weight, as well as your monthly cycle.  I'm nearing my monthly cycle and won't expect to lose a whole lot in the next two weeks, but I stick with it because I know it has been working for me.  Keep logging in and putting in your weight, the tips they offer help me when I don't lose weight each week.  There have been two different weeks where my weight stayed the same, and their tips were very helpful, I kept with it and the following week I lost weight.  And of course, come here to the boards and read the posts, lots of motivation reading when people lose weight.  Makes me want to keep with it so I can get to my goal weight!

I noticed you and I are at the same weight!  That's awesome.  If you want, we can be each other's motivation and support buddy :-)

Keep focused, stick with it, it will work-you have to do your part!

    Re: Help!! I need Motivation

    Hi Cyndi,

When was the last time that you hit this goal? As exciting as it can be, it can also be very overwhelming to succeed. There can be the fear of not being able to maintain what you have achieved, the pressure from having people notice, feeling uncomfortable if people are paying you more attention, or even a let down because life didn't change the way we often think it will once we lose the weight. Do any of these sound familiar to you?

I recommend that you focus on maintaining your weight right now. Get back on your calorie and fat goals, but do so for weight maintenance. You need to learn to be able to sit at this weight for a little while and get used to all of the changes that you have made. Try to focus on your activity to help keep things stable. This will pass, but for now don't worry about that goal weight.

    How does this sound?

    Re: Help!! I need Motivation

HI Cydi, are you having a better week this week?  I hope you are still staying on track-don't give up, look how far you have gotten!  To answer your question, I am 5' 8" tall, and 'bottom heavy' or pear shaped :-(  It is difficult for me to lose weight in my lower body area, especially since having two kids 12 and 8 years ago.  But it was worth it, because I love my kids sooo much!

Keep coming to the boards for motivation, it really helps me to stay focused.  I am finally into the 160's (168) and it feels good.  I haven't seen those numbers in quite some time!  I have lost 12 pounds in 7 weeks and DO NOT want to gain them back!  I have been on some diets where I lose the weight, get excited that I lost some, ate and gained it all back plus some.  I'm sticking with Alli, it seems to be what works for me.

Keep up the great progress you have made so far!

    Katie
