    HELP!!!

This past week has been a struggle for me.  I was doing well on the program, steadily losing about 1 pound a week.  Last week I didn't do as well with my food consumption (read that to mean I was eating CHOCOLATE) and on Friday I fell and needed to have 3 stitches in my chin, plus I had scrapes on my left hand and knee.  My exercise went by the wayside for the weekend (I was having a friend/shopping weekend).  When I weighed myself Monday I had gained 3-4 pounds:(  It's very disheartening to spend 6-7 weeks trying to lose weight and regaining it in a matter of days!!!  I'm back on the program, but if I continue to struggle to lose weight only to rapidly regain it, I have to ask myself "Why are you doing this?" and "How do you plan to live the rest of your life fighting weight gain?"  Any advice is welcome.

    Hi charmyers,

Thanks for writing!  I am sorry to hear that you're struggling with your weight, especially when you're working so hard!  However, it is worth it...for your health and quality of life!

Stay the course and take it day to day.

Best of luck and stay connected to the alli community for support and encouragement!

    Re: HELP!!!

     Hi,

I know exactly how you feel.  I started Alli last September and lost 34 pounds.  Then I went on a cruise in March and have since gained back 18 pounds.  I share your questions to yourself. I ask myself similar ones all the time and don't know the answer.  I only know that I don't like how I feel or look when I am overweight.  So I think we have to continue to do our best and not be too hard on ourselves when we don't do too well. Don't give up!!!

    Re: HELP!!!

Yep, I think you nailed it:  You have to continue to do your best and not give up on yourself, which is the downfall of most diets.  Jump back on that horse, it's the one that's going for the roses!
