1 YEAR LATER... ( DID I KEEP IT OFF?)

AS A MATTER OF FACT I DID... I STARTED ALLI LAST YEAR JULY AT 260LBS.. TODAY I STAND A STRONG 180.. THIS IS WHERE IM MOST COMFORTABLE. AFTER I LOST THE WEIGHT I WAS SO PROUD OF MYSELF I JUST HAD TO KEEP IT GOING. I MAKE SURE I DO SOME FORM OF EXERCISING AT LEAST 3 TIMES A WEEK. OF COURSE IT DOESNT ALWAYS GO THAT WAY SO I MAKE UP FOR IT IN FOOD CHOICES.. I DONT COUNT CALORIES I DONT WEIGH FOOD. I JUST NATURALLY KNOW THAT IF I HAD A HAMBURGER ON TUESDAY I NEED A SALAD ON WEDNESDAY LOL. I STILL KEEP A BOTTLE OF ALLI TO KEEP ME FROM FALLING BACK FROM TIME TO TIME... NO IM NOT DEPENDENT ON IT... I CANT EVEN EXPLAIN MY GRATITUDE TO THE MAKERS OF THIS PRODUCT. EVERY TIME SOMEONE ASK "HOW DID YOU DO IT?", IM PROUD TO TELL THEM THAT ALLI HELPED ME..... IF U ARE HAVING DOUBTS ABOUT IT I UNDERSTAND BUT PLEASE BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY IT IS THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPEN TO ME.. YOU SHOULD SEE ME WHEN IM OUT WITH MY FRIENDS IM THE LIFE OF THE PARTY....

    IN SHAPE AND HAPPY

    Hi D.DOT,

YEAH!!!  GREAT POST!!!  Thanks for the inspiration.  I heard a quote also that helped me to start the program, it said "A year from now you'll wish you had started Alli today."  So I started on May 22nd this year and I'm down 32 pounds, YAY!  Tampabayb

I have tried alot of diets in the past and I am very frustrated since I have had 3 surgeries which

limit my mobility but you have given me courage to keep on trying! Congratulations and Good Luck Always!

Re: 1 YEAR LATER... ( DID I KEEP IT OFF?)

Congrads! Your story is what keeps me fighting. I am halfway there and to be honest I dont mind at all the weight loss part, in fact I like having the control, but I have to say I am so scared about maintaining it. I know that if I stay positive and continue to come here I have a bigger chance to win. Thank you for sharing your victory and best wishes! Erica

Re: 1 YEAR LATER... ( DID I KEEP IT OFF?)

thanks so much for sharing Erica! I too am encouraged at all the stories i read on here. when i started alli i felt like i was at an all time low (or should i say high for my weight, lol), but an all time low where i felt like EVERYTHING in my life was spiraling and i had absolutely NO control over any of it, my son is 4 and was having serious anger problems that got him kicked out of yet another daycare, my husband lost his job-again, my husbands youngest daughter just found out she was pregnant at 15, his oldest daughter was traveling with some magazine company that we had NO clue where she was how she was doing or actually what she was doing and his middle daughter had just decided she no longer wanted anything to do with us and had turned away from the Lord, id lost the closeness ive had with my baby sisters....ya, lol, i could go on and on, but THIS gave me something to 'take control of' and when i lost 2lbs in the very first week without even taking a pill? LOL-I WAS ALL OVER IT!

now im 7months in and have learned a better way of eating and overall, ive lost my goal weight of 23lbs, my sugar levels have gone down, my creatin level went WAY down (oh ya, i dontated a kidney to my dad in 2002 and was having some rough creatin tests showing stress on my kidney), even my cholesterol and a few others have gone down and i am healthier, happier and more vibrant than ever! i was up to a VERY tight 16 and just the other day put on a pair of snug size 8's in jeans, lol, i was in SHOCK!!!

life is new again, and while i had something else to focus my attention on, it seems everything else just fell into place (thank God!), my husband has a new job, decent pay and he LOVES it, my son has mellowed out, my husbands girls are doing better, but all in all, life has resumed and this actually gave me some clarity where i felt completely lost....

and ima be back here next april and say - YA! I KEPT IT OFF!!!!

    Blessings,

    LaCheal =D

Re: 1 YEAR LATER... ( DID I KEEP IT OFF?)

Thanks for posting, everybody.  It is wonderful to hear the success stories.

I figure it may well take me a year to lose my goal of 50 pounds, but after that I sure as heck am not ever going to do it again.  This is a one time deal for me.

I was always slender when I was younger and didn't have to think about what I was eating, but I ate healthfully and was extremely active (palyed volleyball 3-4 days a week, worked out at the gym 3-4 days a week, and also did triathalons).  Then in my 40s I gained weight because I had to quit volleyball due to injuries, but still ate like a jock, and I moved to a  new city and never joined a gym.  That was a huge mistake.  I also had a bunch of health problems, which are now behind me, mercifully.  I probably won't ever be as active as I was before, but I will need to exercise regularly and eat right for the rest of my life.

    Thanks again for the inspiration.

    Caroline
