Did Alli make your bowels more regular?

I am curious, I started Alli one week ago.  Before that I rarely had regular bowel movements (it was normal for me to go 3 or more days without a BM).  Now with Alli I go once, sometimes twice a day.  I don't know if it's a treatment effect, but it sure is nice not to have to "strain"!  Also, even before Alli I drank a good amount of fluids.  Has this happened to anyone else?

Also, I have been on one week and have lost just one pound - I have about 15 more to lose.  Is this a good start?  I was careful "pre-Alli" about what I ate and I worked out, but I never saw results.  I am hoping even just one a week is possible?  Do you think I need to amp up my workout?

    Thanks!

    Hi Molldoll26,

It's really important to have regular bowel movements so this is great news. The changes that you have made to your diet, fluid intake, and activity can be the reason for your regularity.

The goal is to lose between 1 and 3 lbs per week so you are right on track. The scale can vary up to 7 lbs in one day so it's important not to get to caught up in the number each week. You want to watch for a trend in your weight instead of just one week at a time.

Let me know if you have any other questions,

Alli has done me the same way. Sometimes I got about once every week, but since being on Alli, I go everyday and it's a welcome change. I'm so excited about this program. I have my first weigh in on tomorrow, so any weight lost would be great for me. I'm going to do more exercise this week, so any weight loss would be greatly appreciate.

I know one pound doesn't seem like "much" but it's something and for that you should always be proud. I bet once you amp up your workouts you will do fine.

    Good luck...
