    What works for you?

So I was wondering what works for everyone? What did you do one week that helped you lose more weight than another?

    Re: What works for you?

Well of course the first several weeks I was on it, it was easy to stick to the fat grams and calories, but as time went by I just quit losing weight and was of course eating more than I should.  Finally I only have five pounds left to lose.  What I did was sign up for one month of NutriSystem and split the order with my daughter.  I stuck to it strictly and at the end of the two weeks I had lost the five pounds.  Good luck!

    Re: What works for you?

With my first major Diet last year, I did portion control / Glycemic Index, eating every 2-3 hours.  Went from 175 to 150, then stopped.  Could / Can not seem to  break the 150 barrier.  (I did stop the 'diet')  This has went on for a year, at least I kept it off.  In the last two weeks, being out of town for meetings; Wrong Foods. Gained 7 pounds.

Now that I'm back to 160ish, I bought Alli this weekend. Goal of 140, good for my frame.

So, that worked to a point, now I have to see how this plan works.  My plan is a 1400 kcal/day,  I'm sure I was eating 2500 kcal/day this month.

Tough part is I'm a nurse and work for a major nutrition company.  Self application is the toughest part.

Great question!  For me, it is WRITE IT DOWN, WRITE IT DOWN, WRITE IT DOWN.  It's the only way for me to keep on track with the calories and fat grams, and to keep me honest with what I'm eating.  I have a huge 3-ring binder that I keep on my dining room table at all times; if it crosses my lips, it goes on the paper!  Tampabayb

    Re: What works for you?

I follow the weight watchers core plan and do alli. For me its working so far although i did gain two pounds one week (because i had a birthday party i went too) that was all because i just ate too much and i had to pay for it but so far ive lost every week with the exception of that one week and i am down 13 pounds since august 29th! I am very happy with alli so far. Also i have been trying to get my water intake up.

    Re: What works for you?

It may sound weird, but oatmeal or high fiber cereal for breakfast. I have no idea why, but on the days I am consistent with that in the morning I do better all day.

    Hi Laura,

I'm glad you wrote this, I thought it was just me!  Oatmeal in the morning is the best ticket for me, it DOES help me be consistent throughout the day.  And it's so good for my heart!  Thanks, Tampabayb
