Re: I started alli this week. Need a Friend to help support

Love the treadmill, did 4 miles the other day in 48 minutes.  Going to use it again this morning since we have 28 mph winds and I see no reason to be outside if I can workout inside.  I will take the dog out though for a bit of a walk.

Everybody is different.  Some people can drop weight initially quicker then others so trying to compare your progress to others can be depressing.  I think you need to rate your progress on your own scale and not what others are doing.

     Hi Rebecca,

Good choice to send out the candy and it's is just that "out of sight out of mind". I am so proud of you and your excercise!!! I was not able to pick up running on the tread mill until a month 1/2 after i started the gym. I guess it was intimidation, fear and just the thought of running in front of others and failing. I soon found out if I just got on there even if it was my first time (3 mins) on a 4.3 speed and used that to build on....trying to beat myself each day, I eventually got to 15 minute miles.

Then I wanted a better time than 15 minutes and trying each day to improve my own "best" I would increase the speed to get 1 mile in but at a faster time. All the while pushing myself and body to gain more strength.

Just try it and think each day you will get better, try to do it walking first!!!

Well the snow will start piling up this month and melt in May.  I "hang" out more in the lost 50-100 lbs and the 50 something group.

I think I would do better jogging outside if I had a pace car in front of me with a big screen t.v. so I could distract myself.  I mean I turn on the TV and put in a DVD if I'm on the treadmill or the elliptical and it makes the time fly.

Re: I started alli this week. Need a Friend to help support

    Hi everyone!

I started the pills today.  I am laid off at this time so I figured I would do it now so I had access to the bathroom!!! *LOL*  I have never done this message board thing so bare with me.  I bought a treadmill about 4 months ago and have been on it twice!  I used to be on it every day when I originally had one.  With diet and exercise I lost 50 lbs then went back home to Boston for my parents 50th and busted my knee and gained it all back plus some!  It's really depressing....  I live in Texas, My daughter and Grandkids live in Maine and my son lives in California. I have no family here.  THEN there is my son's wedding in April 2009.  I NEED to loose weight and look hot...  the ex will be there! Hahah we get along great, but you know.....

Anyway, good luck everyone!  Looking forward to meeting some new friends.  I am here for anyone that needs me.

    Kammy

Oh.....  what does the different colors "Bronze" etc... mean?

Re: I started alli this week. Need a Friend to help support

     Hi,

I bought alli on Tuesday on a whim. My husband told me not to do it, my mom said that it would benefit me and even was willing to pay for it as long as I wanted to do it and stick with it.

I just told my husband that I'm restarting Weight Watchers and going to take alli as well. I am a working mom with a 2 yr daughter. I've found that my energy level is low and I really don't feel like chasing her. I need to lose all of the weight that I have gained over the years.  I am weighing in at 235 and want to lose 120 lbs. I have a bad knee and possible early arthitis in it.

I would love to have any support from people out there.  I really need to lose all the weight so I can keep up with my  energetic toddler.

The colors, bronze, copper, gold etc have to do with how many board posts you have.

Re: I started alli this week. Need a Friend to help support

Hi Stacey I bought alli 4 weeks ago and have already lost 5 lbs. Look at the recipes and meal plans that alli has to offer some of them are really good. Try to get some exercise for exsample a 10 min. walk, and build up from there. I know its hard with a 2yr old. Oh and keep a food journal of what you eat and when. I'm here if you need me. LouAnn

Re: I started alli this week. Need a Friend to help support

     Hi Stacey,

I started alli a week ago but have been dieting, it seems like, forever! I also have a toddler. I can relate to not having the energy to run after them. I don't exercise very much because I'm to darn tired through the day. I would like to lose 20lbs but know that is a big goal for now. I started Alli at 179 & would like to be 160.  Right now I'm happy w/ the 2 lbs I lost this week. I don't have a great support system. My husband won't eat low fat meals w/ me since he does not have to lose. I just try to watch the portions I eat. I need & want to exercise. My goal this week is to ride my recumbent bike (which is in my living room!) at least 20 min. 4x. I have to do it when my son is asleep which means early morning. I'm going to do my best...

I hope you have a wonderful day!

    Elizabeth

     Blessings,

    Elizabeth

Re: I started alli this week. Need a Friend to help support

Thanks, as I've gotten closer to my goal it's slowed down, I have stopped eating after 6PM, I try and make sure I brush my teeth then so I don't eat the rest of the evening.  Eat lots of veggies and fruit, I try and have a big salad with dinner so I have enough to eat to keep me busy while my husband eats.  I work out at least 60 minutes a day if not more.  I was reading on webmd that people who have lost a lot of weight and want to keep it off who also have a tendency to gain weight need to work out about 90 minutes a day.

I work out of the house so I can fit my workouts in during the day.

I'm more concerned about keeping it off.  My evil twin has lately been rearing her head making me snack when I KNOW I don't want to.
