    Re: Maintenance Forum

Gee, if I stayed at 1400 calories a day and exercised 7 days a week, I believe I would be nothing but skin and bones.  I really don't know how many calories I eat anymore, I just know that my portions are a lot smaller than before and I still buy the lean types of foods.  When I plan a vacation now, I try to make sure there is some sort of physical activity available.  It's very key to maintaining.  As far as the 1-4 pound swings, it might just be that our metabolism is a lot stronger than before and it forces weight loss when needed to get back to a baselne that our bodies now maintain.  Not sure on that one, but it might be a reason.  Maybe one of the Mods can chime in on this.

    Re: Maintenance Forum

We have a couple of trips planned so far for this summer.  I scoped out the fitness centers online for both of the places so I'm covered there.  When we go on trips I end up getting up a couple hours earlier then my sweetie and working out before we get going for the day.  He knows me really well by now, he'll see me scoping out the menu and ask are you trying to figure out how long you will have to work out if you order xyz?

    Re: Maintenance Forum

Hi, I'm just checking in because it's been awhile.  I managed to gain 15 pounds, starting with last Thanksgiving, and was stuck in a nasty cycle of just eating anything and everything, no discipline.  I wised up a couple of weeks ago thankfully, and have started Weight Watchers, first time, and love it.  I really like the point system, maybe just because it's something different, but I've lost 5-1/2 pounds in 10 days, 4 of that within three days and then slowing down to about .2 a day.  It's great, I'm not starving, I like the frozen entrees and all the fruit and vegetables on it.  They have great desserts too that are only a couple of points each.  I want to lose 7 pounts by June 16, which is my two-year anniversary with alli, and would be the weight I was at one year ago, then I'll work on the other few pounds.  I guess what I'm trying to say is, even if you fall off the wagon and gain some weight back, you can lose it and learn from it and stay in maintenance.  I hope everybody else is doing well.

    Re: Maintenance Forum

     Hi Everybody,

I have been in maintanance for a few weeks now, I am up 3 pounds this check in, I went on a disney cruise and went "overboard" on the food and tropical drinks. It was a once and a lifetime vacation for me, so I have no regrets. I go in for a hysterectomy on may 12th, so I want to lose these 3 pounds by then, so I will be back at my goal weight, and just work on maintanance during my recovery time. I would love to find a maintanance buddy!!

    Re: Maintenance Forum

Its been a long time since I chimed in so thought I would give an update on my maintaining.  I have probably gained 6-7 pounds of muscle since I stopped taking Alli.  Thats been about a year now.  I have actually gotten thinner due to my working out 3 times a week.  My clothes fit me much better and I feel better than I have in over 20 years. I probably would be skin and bones if it wasnt for my terrible addiction to sweets, especially chocolate.  At least I eat dark chocolate most of the time.  I still eat rather healthy though and eat small portions.  Even though I have gained the muscle from primarily muscle toning with weights, I'm still at a healthy BMI weight.  My family doesnt want me to lose anymore weight, just put on more muscle, but I'm almost 58 and that's not the easiest thing to do.  Anyway, I have gotten slimmer, gotten bigger biceps, and can eat more what I call mainstream comfort food and as long as I workout, I feel very confident that I'm eating the right things in my life at my age.  Hope the rest of you that are maintaining can feel good about yourselves and enjoy life as it should be.

    Re: Maintenance Forum

Dave glad to hear you are doing so well!!!  I have recenty begun increasing my weights so hopefully I will really improve my muscle tone! I have been on maintenance for only 5 months so far and manage to stay 1 -3 pounds lower or higher than my goal weight on any given day. Maintenance I think is still pretty tricky. I still am not sure how many calories I should eat to maintain or how much exercise I need to do. Obviously Im doing ok but I wish I knew more concrete say I need to eat 1400 calories a day so I can program my food log for that goal... somedays I only eat 1000 calories and other days its 1500 calories. Its getting warmer here so Im out riding bikes, walking, playing on the trampoline with my 4 year old etc... I really need to join a gym but childcare is difficult in the evenings. Have you gotten many people to join you in the Alli plan? Several people where I work have tried it and so have their family members. Feeling comfortable in shorts this summer is amazing! Cant wait to go shopping for more! Hope you have a great summer , and congrats for doing so well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Re: Maintenance Forum

You guys who've reached the "maintenance" level are so lucky. I'll be so glad when I get to that point. I still have about 89 lbs to go in order to get to my goal weight of 125 lbs. And when I get there, I'm going to make sure I stay there.

    Re: Rewards

     Hi,

Thanks for all you are doing for all of us. Keeping us updated and all.  I was wondering though, I have a reward, but when I click to go get it, it comes up saying page not there any longer, 404 something or other.  Is there a new way to get my reward??  My mom and I both are doing the Alli, and both of us are doing great on it.  She got her award, well entered the info to get it, but has not gotten it yet.  I got "you have an award" message two weeks ago, but it won't let me claim it. Is there a new way to claim it??  Please let me know if there is.  Again, thank you so much.

    Candi.

    Re: Rewards

    Hi AkAngel22,

Here is the update on the rewards program from the tool help and and side feedback board:

    To myalliplan members,

We have great news!  People all over the US are signing up for myalliplan and taking advantage of the tools to develop a new healthy relationships with food. However, due to the overwhelming participation, we must now re-evaluate the myallirewards program to further enhance this program.  We will temporarily remove the rewards program until this evaluation is complete and will notify all members the expected timing of the new program launch.

For those who have been participating in the myallirewards program we want to recognize your success.  We know you have worked hard and we have identified all of you who have earned the mailed rewards.  You will be contacted in the next few weeks via email with more information about your reward.

Again, we thank you for your participation in myalliplan and wish you continued success on your weight loss journey.

Let me know if you have any other questions,

    Betty Kovacs, MS, RD
