    Filipino Food!

I'm Filipino and I just started alli. It's a great plan and I've seen some pound lossage already with little side effects (1 instance). But I'm worried about eating my authentic food. We eat rice with EVERY meal and a lot of foods are cooked in oil (fried tofu my FAVORITE!)

How am I supposed to substitute or still enjoy my home good meals without haivng side effects?

"This is our chance to answer that call.  This is our moment.  This is our time – to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth – that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can’t, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people:

    Yes We Can."

    Re: Filipino Food!

Welcome to alli!  It's a great Program and I'm glad you've lost some weight already.  In order to enjoy your native cuisine I suggest two things: smaller portions + more of low/no fat items like salad dressing; and lots ofr vegetables, salads and fruits.  The rice is fine.  Just use less fat to prepare it.

Also use less fat for other items.  For instance, try baked tofu (with the same herbs and spices for good flavor).  The key is to re-work some o your recipes so they meet the alli guidelines.  The alli diet is 30% total daily calories from fat - and that's pretty generous, even though it's called a "Low-Fat" diet.

    I hope this helps.
