    Re: Other Wii Options

I have tried to buy one since before Christmas and they are still sold out every where in town where I live.  Have you tried Dance Dance Revolution?  That is the other thing that I really love that is the same type of product as the fit.  The fit is really amazing how many different things you can do and what kind of information it can tell you but I love DDR too!  You can set it up on workout mode and enter just a few things and dance until you burn 500 calories!  I love it.

    Re: Other Wii Options

Thanks for starting this thread.  I would like to save up for Wii Fit.  The cheapest place I saw was Game Stop.  I am just not sure I can do it.  Do you need to be able to stand without falling over?  I have balance issues.  Do you need to be able to hear instructions?  I am also deaf.

    Thanks for the info!

    Caglenn,

The Wii Fit will allow you to use a chair or walker for support, but you do need to be able to stand to use the balance board.  It will make you more aware of your balance.  I believe that in depth directions are auditory, but they do have some written directions on the screen.

    Re: Other Wii Options

I just got a wii 5 days ago at gamestop. I got the WiiFit too and I LOVE IT. Wow the technology is just amazing. Its tells me "wow your left side is very stiff - we will work to center your balance, improving your posture."

Anyways, I want to get a second fit game. Which one is better Jillian or My trainer? I only want to get one for now. THANKS!

    Re: Other Wii Options

I JUST got MFC last night (ordered it from EBay) - had Jillian's - didn't like it - the controls didn't work very well with it - very frustrating - I will be starting MFC today - HOPING it helps!!  From the exervise string, looks like I'll be investing in an exercise ball too!!

    Good luck!!!

I think you'll really like MFC.  The only time you use the controller is to rate out sections of the work out.

I just bought the new EA Sports Active game last week. OMG, it's great! Lots of fun activities and it really pushes you. I love how customizable it is!

    Re: Other Wii Options

I have really been contemplating buying a Wii game system just for the Wii Fit. Everyone I've talked to about it says it's great and you can really feel the workout. I remember seeing a commercial for a particular game where there was some type of exercise "mat/board" that you would have to stand or lie on to interact with the workout. With me being 214 lbs., I just wanted to know if anyone who's about my size has one and with that weight, are you able to use the gaming system?

    Re: Other Wii Options

I was close to 200 lbs when I started using Wii Fit. I'd already started Alli and had lost a few pounds but not a whole lot yet. I LOVED Wii Fit for about 8 months, then it got too easy. I still love to play the games but they aren't my workout anymore. I've moved on to more "intense" games such as My Fitness Coach and the new EA Sports Active. I think Wii Fit is well worth the investment to get you started with a great fitness routine. I used it every day for those 8 months. :) Sometimes for an hour and a half!

Honestly, you might find some of the exercises difficult to start with but most of them will be ones you can do. The "scoring" helps keep you motivated to beat your last score, which helps you work harder. Your balance WILL improve and the exercise will help you feel better.

    Enjoy!
