I am pretty sure that I have posted once or twice but have been very busy.  I started my weight loss journey doing light pilates (which I love) to tone, then went to walking on a treadmill for the aerobic exercise that I know I need to drop the pounds.  now that I am down 40 pounds I am able run on the treadmil instead of walking.  I am currently up to 1.3 miles in thirty minutes.  I have worked myself up to the speed of 4.2 miles an hour.  I have been increasing the distance by about a 10th of a mile every other day and hope to eventually get to three miles a day.  It is a really difficult workout for me being as the most I have ever exercised was with walking.  Wish me luck

I traveled this weekend, and, at times, I was really stressed.  This morning it felt good to get back to the gym.

    Re: Mon through Fri

    Hi Jane,

I've been MIA a little.  I was sick with an ear and throat (tonsils) infection, and, also, I just really can't believe how time flies and how little I have to show for it, work-wise and home-chore-wise!

    10/11:  1660/50/186

    10/12:  1670/54/184

    10/13:  2560/110/254 (Red Lobster Pig-Out)

10/14:  1720/56/225 (had a taste of the Publix Apron Meals sample)

    10/15:  1600/53/219

10/16:  1990/77/260 (ate restaurant food twice)

10/17:  1670/73/186 (ate at restaurants twice)

    10/18:  1580/48/198

    10/19:  1620/53/188

    10/20:  1360/37/191

    10/21:  1480/40/204

    10/22:  1660/49/219

    10/23:  1660/52/235

10/24:  1710/56/222  (had dim sum for lunch, but, didn't too badly on calories/fat)

10/25:  1770/40/276  (ate at restaurants twice, but, didn't do too badly on calories/fat)

10/26:  1590/52/194  (ate fatty Cuban food, but, didn't doo too badly overall for the day)

I worked out for an hour with the Wii Fit every day except Saturday, 10/17, and Friday, 10/16, because I felt too sick to work out those two days.  Yesterday I only did a half-hour on the Wii Fit, but, I cleaned the house for over a half-hour.  And, on 10/11 I didn't do any Wii Fit, but, I cleaned the house for 6 hours straight, sweating a lot throughout.

Jane, I hope you've been able to get back to your exercise routine!  For me, it's really good for my mood and for stress-relief, so, I hope you're not traveling as much and not having as much stress by now.

    :-)

    Re: Mon through Fri

hi ladies... i am going to report lots of leaf raking and walking....weight has been maintaing between 134-135 ..have not been loogging my food anymore  because i have been maintaining without it being any change from my daily routine... i choose carefully  what and how much i eat and it seems to be working..yaaayyyy..the only difference for me in maintenance  and weight loss  for me seems to be i dont take my alli any more and i dont have to work out as much..i still do excercise .. just not as much and not for as long..so its all good...it seems easy..i am not taking it for granted though..i still get on the scale once a week and still pay attention to what i eat and make sure that i get enough excercise in.. it just seems to be routine  which i guess is what we are all going for!...kathy

    Re: Mon through Fri

    Kathy,

CONGRATULATIONS!  As difficult and impressive as it is to lose weight, keeping it off is much more awe-inspiring, so, CONGRATS!

And, hey, you were a size 18 at your alli starting weight, like me, and, now you're a size 8!!!    I haven't been smaller than a size 12 since 1998, so, over 11 years ago.  It really helps to motivate me to see that how much weight loss you accomplished!

    Re: Mon through Fri

    Hi Jane & Kathy,

Wed. 10/28:  1630/53/217/83, 248 calories burned with 1 hour with the Wii Fit Plus (cardio)

Thurs. 10/29:  1690/51/233/79, 231 calories burned with 1 hour with the Wii Fit Plus (cardio)

Fri. 10/30:  2060/73/304/57, one restaurant meal, 233 calories burned with 1 hour with the Wii Fit Plus (cardio)

Sat. 10/31:  3080/154/285/130, CUBAN FOOD RESTAURANT!, 223 calories burned with 1 hr. w/Wii Fit Plus (cardio) & walked around trick-or-treating with nephews

Sun. 11/1:  5350/390/262/174, ESTIMATING CALORIES, BUT HAD NO IDEA RESTAURANT BRUNCH COULD BE THIS CRAZY-BAD!!!!  walked around at Target store

My husband was home on Thursday & Friday and off Saturday & Sunday as well, and, I wanted him to enjoy going out to restaurants on his time off.  I don't think I'll gain weight because of it, but, I don't know if I'll lose any weight this week, either.

Lately I go to the restaurants first, because it's not pre-planned, and, then when I have time I look up and estimate calories and put them into my food journal.  So, I didn't know until today how many calories I'd taken in on Friday and Saturday and Sunday.

There was one particular item in Sunday's brunch, a Muenster cheese & beer soup served in a hollowed out sourdough bread loaf, and, I found a recipe for the soup on the restaurant's website.  I used a recipe calculator tool online, and, I put in all the ingredients, and, I estimated a little on the amount of bread, and, I estimated that I had about a third of the soup.  That was over 3,000 calories right there!  WOW!!!  Oh my gosh!!!  That thing should come with a warning!  No wonder I wasn't hungry when the actual brunch came around.  However, I ate all of it later on as my "dinner" of leftovers.

Jane, I think posting once a week or every few days is good.  You're doing so well on calories & fat and also on exercising.  I'm impressed by the spinning workout and the elliptical workout!

    :-)

    Re: Mon through Fri

Hi ladies, saw the post and loved what I was reading.  Count me in on being accountable since the gym is just across the street from my office.  I am going to start to wear my pedometer again and walk the dog longer and on nights that I am not in school, I will be at the gym.

I will let you know how long I walked the dog after class tomorrow.  That will keep me accountable in making sure I check in all of the time.
