I was reading somewhere that when you are heavier you have more blood going through your system because you are bigger and there is more area to cover. As you lose the weight your body has to adjust to the need for less blood but that takes awhile so you have more blood being pumped through your body and your heart is working harder.
I don't know if I explained that very well but it did make sense when I read it.
I figure since I donate blood regularly that my body didn't have to make up a lot of what I donated since I don't need it anymore.
I did notice this last time I donated I was back up to my regular workout the next day. The time before that it took me about 5 days before I felt back to normal. So being a healthier weight and working out helped me bounce back faster.
