This Saturday (11/29) is my 55th birthday. I started Alli in February of this year at 243 pounds. I took my goals small - 10 pounds at a time. As the time went on and Fall got closer, I started looking at the ultimate goal of losing 55 pounds by my 55th birthday. There were some setbacks along the way - a few plateaus and some discouragement. Last week I thought I wouldn't make my birthday goal because I put my back out and haven't been able to exercise. My doctor said no exercising for at least another week, so I settled for, "Well, at least I haven't gained any weight this week." Then when I stepped on the scale for my weight-in this morning, there it was -- 188 pounds! I'm so excited! The hard work is really paying off.
Now the next big goal is to get out of the 180's. All I can say is stick with it. Sometimes it seems like the weight is never going to come off. I spent three weeks at the miserable plateau of 199. And then when it happened, it happened big. So just don't give up!
I'm looking forward to the next time I can post another good news message.
