    Finally at a 'normal' BMI for my height/weight

    In three months I have gone from an unhealthy 180 pounds and an overweight BMI to a 'normal' BMI and 162 pounds.  I still have 22 more pounds to go before I reach my goal weight, and it will still be a 'normal' BMI at that point too.  I am so excited to have come this far and will continue on my journey until I reach my goal weight.  I have said it many times in my posts, this is the longest I have stayed with a 'diet' plan and seen great results.  I might not see weight loss every week, but the weeks I don't lose, I stay the same.  As long as I am not GAINING weight, this is working for me and that keeps me motivated.  I know others are finding great success with this plan as well, and for those of you who aren't, please keep trying.  Counting calories and fat grams is what really helps to keep me on track as well.  Some days are better than others and there have been slip ups.  I just get back on the wagon and go from there.

    18 pounds.  Doesn't seem like a lot when I say it, but when you don't see it on your body, it really is a lot!

    well done thats fantastic.

    My first goal is to get my BMI down to a healthy number too, so far so good, 13lbs in 6 weeks.

    That is fantastic. I will bet it feels wonderful. 18 pounds is great too. I can't wait until I can tell people that I have dropped 18 pounds. Keep it up. Congratulations!

    Hi Katie,

    There is nothing little about 18 lbs. Every pound that you lose takes 4 lbs of pressure off of your joints. That means that you have taken 72 lbs of pressure off of your joints!!!! You have also significantly improved your health by reaching a 'normal' BMI. Those 18 lbs are full of rewards!

     Way to go Katie, now you can join the maintenance forum with your thoughts.  Maintaining can be tricky, but I exercise to maintain my weight.  Lost 83 pounds and have gained about 4 pounds of muscle from working out. I feel 100 percent better.

    Thanks everyone, I do feel better overall, and lighter, lol.  I'm not at my goal weight yet, but I am only one pound away from another mini goal!  I'm hoping to meet that by next week or the week after.  I have noticed a trend where I lose one week and not the following week.  I think that is ok for me as long as I don't gain weight.  I'll get to my ultimate goal weight, I'm going to keep going forward because I know this works for me.  Thanks for the words of praise, it means a lot!  Keep up all your hard work!
