Sticking to it and Doing it!! Even if you do work odd hours and Have No normal life style: daily exercise, meal planning, grocery shopping(for low-calorie foods), etc....

Just needing a little guidance ok alot. I am suppose to be starting my diet i believe today 12/17/08. Or at least starting my three day prep yourself with low-calorie foods. Getting my kitchen cleaned up of all trigger foods. Which is everything!! Lots of starchy foods and box foods and nothing healthy as of today still. Since i work from 4:30pm to 3am. My cooking has gone out the door. I used to cook every night for me and my S.O... Not saying it was really health cause of the way i/we cook. Lots of butter and oily/greasey foods. Tried for that three course meal thouht. Meats veggie,  and  Breads.

Cant forget the Desserts my boyfriend loves his sweetssssssssssssss

    Lots To Love

Hi loaimee!  I also work night shifts and it takes some getting used to to time your meals out, but it is doable!  The alli meal plans were great for me because I never felt hungry.  Whole foods that are high in fiber make you feel full and the feeling lasts longer.  Cleaning out your kitchen helps alot.  When you shop, shop the outer edge of the grocery store and avoid the aisles.  Use whole grain breads and pastas.  Whole veggies and fruits, and lean meats.  For that sweet tooth, I have learned to love yogurt.  The Weight Watchers brand tastes best to me...doesn't have that aftertaste!  The vice I allow myself in flavored creamer in coffee...makes me feel like I am having dessert, and helps me get to my goal fat intake.  Once you get used to it you will find you actually have a difficult time fitting in enough fat!

Good luck to you!  Stick with it and you will do great!  I have lost 23 lbs in 2 months!  I couldn't be happier!

I work 2 11pm -7am shifts then 2 7am-3pm shifts... My husband works straight overnights, and we have 3 kids...Two teenagers and a 4 year old... Life is pretty busy but this plan is very easy! On my overnights I bring snacks such as yogurt, cheesesticks, granola bars, fruit, fat free pudding, raw vegees, popcorn.... I try to eat one small snack every couple hours or so. They are all very low in calories and really dont have much fat either. I have trouble eating enough on my overnights because then I go home and sleep and usually eat a small dinner ... My exercise time is usually 7pm and I do a video or walk weather permitting. I also really like whole wheat pitas and turkey, baked chips, fat free coolwhip...on everything! LOL Lean cuisine frozen pizzas are great for a easy dinner... If I was on your schedule I would probably exercise when I woke up whatever time that is... ( noon??) ... We also eat a lot of spanish rice, and I make a large amount and measure it out and eat it all week long. Grocery shopping gets much easier as you get used to it! I also love cereal as a snack any kind sweetened of course! I would be glad to help you with any other questions you may have, I am just about done on my Alli journey and ready to maintain........... WELCOME

I work about 12-14 hours a day but it's at home.  I can fit my workouts in more easily then others since all my work out equipment is in the room next to my computer room.  I just need to stay out of the kitchen which is also nearby.

A lot of this is mind set.  If you say to yourself you will overcome any of the time/work issues then you will

Loaimee209, I feel for you! I see this is a post from a few months ago, but I am new to Alli and therefore new to all these interesting posts. My DH (dear husband) has a penchant for honey roasted peanuts, which I also love. After a few too many "treatment effects," I finally just took a Sharpie and wrote "NO!" on the lid of the tub.

Having gone on and off the diet/exercise wagon many, many times, one thing I've also (finally!) learned is that fatigue, mental OR physical, is the biggest enemy to keeping it going. When I am tired physically, I don't want to work out. When I am tired mentally, I don't want to plan and prepare fiddly, healthy meals. I have learned to have pre-made snacks on hand, and have developed a few "lazy" healthy dinners, when I just can't be bothered to do anything fancier.

Since I've begun paying more attention to my emotional, mental and physical energy levels, and then choosing my actions based on them, I've been much more successful. If I slip up, I just say to myself "no shame, no blame!" Good luck!
