I definitely fit into this group! I'm going to turn 20 this month and I weigh 265 pounds. It's not the most I've Ever weighed, but it's a Lot >_<. I'm making a lot of life changes because I've just realized that I am So tired of being fat all the time. It makes life a burden in ways that only other larger people would even think of. I hate being judged for it so I'm going to change it. I've never had a car of my own so I really have no mobility to go out and exercise with friends and family, but when I decided to start alli last week, one became available to me and I"m buying it and plan to join the Y here in my town. Today was my first day of taking pills (and I forgot to take one with my last meal of the day -- oops!) and I haven't seen any treatment effects yet. I'm allowed to have 19 grams of fat but I'm only going to do 15 at maximum, and usually I don't hit that maximum. I love healthy food. My favorite foods are vegetables. The problem is that I share a duplex and the kitchen is downstairs and I live upstairs, so preparing foods gets iffy sometimes with the residents down there. Tonight though, I went and bought an entire cart full of healthy groceries and threw out all of my brownies and cookies and ramen and snacks. I'm tired of looking like this and I really hope alli will help me. I want to weigh 140 pounds (I'm 5'2" but have a large and more toned frame than most girls) at my end goal, but my current one is just to get to 160 or 170 lbs. In the past month I've gotten rid of my acne, gone back to college, and now it's time for this extra weight to go!
PS - Does anybody know if you Have to take the alli pill before eating your meal? Or is it safe to take it afterward and still have it be effective? I didn't want to pop one after having already eaten my meal for fear that I'd just be wasting it and they're costly enough to not want to waste them.
