    Need Help Trying to Reach Recommended Fat gms

    Hello - I am new to the Alli Plan.  I have been doing WW and we do a very low fat meal plan.  What can I add to my meals to help me reach the recommended fat?  I was considering adding flaxseed oil to my daily menu's.  How many gms of fat in a tablespoon of flaxseed oil?  One last question, how can you tell when flaxseed oil is spoiled?

    Welcome to alli.  It's a great Program and I'm sure you'll do well.

    One tablespoon of flaxseed oil contains about 120 calories, and 13 grams of fat.  I'd suggest you also use things like nuts and seeds in your salads or cereals; LF or regular salad dressing instead of FF; olives and avocado are some other "healthy" ways to increase your fat content.

    Fat is an important component of success with the alli program.  There's a great post at the top of this message board with more on why fat is so important.  Take a look when you get a chance.

    About your question of "how can you tell when flexseed oil is spoiled?"  The best answer is" When in doubt, throw it out!"

    Sometimes oils will have an "off" or highly rancid smell, but sometimes as it's turning that odor may be slight or imperciptible.  If the oil is old, has not been stored in a cool, dark place, or you have any other reason to suspect it is spoiled I'd say to toss it.

     Hi -- I'm Sheilah and I have been on WW since 10-2-08 -- lost 25 lbs already !!

    I started Alli 3 wks ago and my avg weight loss went from 1.5 to 3 # a week.

    I do not increase my fat intake because if you eat a balanced WW plan (points -- I'm on 25 a day) -- there is fat in mostly everything -- just do not exceed 15 grams.....
