Need a good container for snacks and lunches, any ideas?

    Hello!

I am a soon to be "newbie" and I want to purchase some good snack containers and a good lunch container?

Does anyone have any good recommendations?  There is not a lot of free space in our work fridge so has anyone tried the lunch ones with an ice pack in them?

I am so excited to start 2009 off with Alli - I JUST WISH IT WOULD ARRIVE (yet I just ordered it last week).  *eager*

    THANKS!  :0)

Hi, welcome - I just started myself. I actually like the glad disposbale containers (even the no name brands too). That way you don't have to worry about losing them. They are pretty sturdy and keep things cold in the bags witht he ice packs. That's what has worked for me when I go out.

I have those and love them!  They even have ones with lids that have room for dressing so your salad stays cold and doesn't get soggy.  I also buy the snack size zip bags for dry food like nuts.  I have a soft sided lunch box that has a large and small area that zip open.  There are lots of cute colors and different sizes out there to try.  I have also found small size "cold keepers" that you freeze and stick in the lunch box so you don't have to worry about putting your food in a refrigerator.

    Good luck and happy losing!

I too use the glad bowls, they are inexpensive so if you lose one it didn't cost as much as a Tupperware one would have. I also save some of my butter bowls and use them to take leftovers to work, I can throw them away without the guilt!

I love the little snacke baggies, I like to take out about 5 or 6 bags and premeasure my snacks (pretzels, carrotts, crackers) and keep on hand or ready to go, that way I already have a serving ready and know the cal/fat info.

I don't know if alli is still doing it, but they were sending containers as a reward to members who have been on alli for a few months.  Some of the containers even show the ounces marked on the side, and come in graduated sizes, very nice.  The disposable containers from the grocery store work fine too though.
