    running

I have exercise equip. in my basement.  Like an elliptical, treadmill, mini tramp., mini stepper, ab roller.  My question is what can I do when running in an unfinished basement that is VERY cold in the winter, when I run the air is cold and hurts to breath it sometimes, plus I find that I stay sick, like sinus problems.  Someone suggested a space heater, do you think that this will help?

    Thanks.

~ ; ) Linda G. : ) ~ It didn't go on overnight and I will not get it off overnight.  I've got to take it one day at a time!!!!!

    Re: running

I have asthma and live in Colorado so I know cold.  My exercise room is a bit cool also, probably not as cold as yours.

First I usually start off with a flannel shirt that is easy to take off while I'm moving once I've warmed up.

I know outside I use a scarf around my mouth and nose so that the air I take in is warmed up.  If a scarf is too warm maybe one of those regular paper type face masks until you get going and warmed up.

I'm sure someone who actually knows what they are talking about will be by shortly.

    Re: running

     Hi Linda,

It is great that you have access to all that equipment right in your home!  A space heater is a great idea.  I know many people who use them in similar conditions.  When purchaing one, be sure to buy one that can heat the area required and find out if it needs to vented or not.

    Good Luck,

    Paul
