    Silly Question??

This may seem like a silly question, but does anyone have any recommendations for an affordable, yet reliable weight scale to buy?  I've experienced so many and none ever seem to be accurate...even at some doc offices.

    Thanks,

    Amy

    Re: Silly Question??

Amy - I bought a Weight Watcher digital scale at my Wal-Mart, it was the cheapest model they had and I like it, would have liked to have gotten one that does BMI, but this one works for me.

    Good Luck! Michelle

    Re: Silly Question??

It isn't a silly question, it's one almost everyone asks when they start.  In the time I've been here the answer that has been given by most people is Tanita.  I have one, and also have a WW scale sitting next to it.  I use both every morning, and while the WW usually comes in at about one pound less than the Tanita, the Tanita is the one that compares to my doctor's scale.  They are available at several different prices, depending on if you want it to show your BMI, etc.  Mine shows the weight in pounds plus ounces, so I might weigh 160.0 or 160.2, 160.4, etc.  I like that, every little bit helps when you're struggling to lose.

    Re: Silly Question??

Hi and welcome to the Alli family :)

I also have a Tanita .. purchased it a few years back when I started a weight loss challenge.  It's the scale that Dr Phil had on it Weight Loss Challenge   It has 3 settings - I have mine (age, height) then we set one for hubby (he joined that particular challenge with me) then there's a guest button.

Just remember that scales work better on flat surfaces, not carpeting.

    Re: Silly Question??

I used to work at BED,BATH,AND BEYOND and had to go through training on scales. Go into your local BBB and ask for help from someone with training done. I can't remember the technology that is best, but I am sure someone there can help. Most important... don't keep it where moisture will get to it, especially steam from shower.

    Re: Silly Question??

    Hello,

I was actually wondering the same thing!

I am only 19 and I dont have a job right now =[ (meaning i dont have a whole lot of money right now). I went to my local target and the cheapest one I could find was a $35 dollar one. I got nervous and hurried off!! ?I haven't looked at my local Baed, Bath and Beyond though. I kind of figured more specialty stores may be mroe expensive. Any Suggestions. I don't really need a fancy one. Just one that I don't have to drive all the way to my gym just to weigh myself haha!

    Thank you!

Some day SOON I will put a shirt on and not think....I need my jacket over this...

    Re: Silly Question??

     Hello Everyone!!

I know this sounds crazy but i've found some cheap ones as LOWES home improvement. I know, i know, i know....I didn't belive it myself but my friend said she got one there for like 25 dollars and you can store up to four people on the scale (it remebers your weight and everything!! =] ). You might want to look there. It doesn't pull up online ( i just tried to post a link but I couldn't find them online.) But I promise, they are there!!

    Re: Silly Question??

Thanks vampirita and everyone else too!

Haven't been on in forever...we have 3 Chihuahua puppies that are keeping us VERY busy right now!  Anyone want one?  :)

I actually found a pretty decent digital scale at Wal-Mart...it has room to store 4 people in it (height, weight, BMI).  It was about $25.  It's working for now, but I'll definitely check out BBB when I'm looking to upgrade.
