    Reaching our daily targets

Today is Day 1 (without Alli pills).  I ate my 3 meals and 2 snacks and at 8:00 p.m. I still have about 600 calories and 30 grams of fat left over.  I even ate lo-fat rather than no-fat foods but a lot of things I prefer are non-fat (I only like skim milk, for example).  Apparently I don't have very bad eating habits when I'm paying attention and prepared.   I'm following the eating plan with substitutions but I think reaching my targets on a daily basis will be difficult.  Also, I'm curious about "I can't believe its not butter spray."  It says no fat, no calories.  What the heck is it?!  Is it okay to use without experiencing the dreaded "treatment effects?"

    Re: Reaching our daily targets

Welcome to alli!  It's a great Program and I'm sure you'll do well.

This issue comes up often, and it's solved by using more regular or LF items rather than FF.  We've all been so brainwashed about FF that sometimes it's tricky to reverse that notion.  However, the alli diet is 30% total calories from fat - same as the diet of the American Heart Association and the Dietary Guidelines - so this is a healthy approach.

Other ways to add fat/calories is to use "healthy" items like nuts, avocado and olives.  You can add them to salads, sandwiches, casseroles, etc.

The butter spray is mostly chemicals and the fine mist that sprays out is why they can say it's no fat and no calories.  That's on a "per serving" basis!  Take a look at the ingredient list on the can and you'll see for yourself.

Please let me know if you need anything else.
