Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

Lol, Dan!  Well, I hope you didn't drop out this week!  I know that when I got away from journaling everyday, it robbed some of my control over the situation.  I find that the daily journaling of my intake (nutrition) and outgo (exercise) are crucial to me staying on track.  I need that day-to-day feedback to stay on top of things.  On the weeks that I reach my exercise goals I not only feel better mentally, emotionally, and physically, but my weight falls right inline with my target or exceeds it.  On the weeks where I fall short on the exercise, I usually don't make my target or I just barely make it and I feel like a slacker to boot!  I know sometimes it's hard to make yourself "just do it" but without moving the machine, it's hard to advance!  You're weight loss is amazing to me.  Obviously your dedication is there, otherwise; you couldn't have come this far.  Do you find the classes at Keiser helpful?  Are there many there who've been as successful as you?

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

    hey zuma,   im not gonna drop out. when i dont lose i get uppity, but if i drop out ill just get fat again. speaking of zuma, i used to love going to zuma beach when i was younger, maybe ill go back after my tummytuck  { if i ever get one }

kaiser is helpful for keeping a person motivated, there is daily food logs and exercise logs and weekly weigh ins, and i hate to turn in paper work that doesnt have anything on it, so im down to 600 to 1100 cals a day strict and im walking\ jogging again even though i hate getting up at 3 am . i lost 2 lbs this week, not bad. i have 4 lbs to reach my next goal and 19 lbs to my next major goal. anything after that is gravy, but that is too far off to think about now. i will make 190 lbs cuz i want to see what the treasure chest does when the gold bars reach it.   when i started my diet i calculated it would take about 2500 miles of walking , im at about 1000 so thankfully i overestimated. the kaiser programs are open to non members but are more money. mine is $90 for six weeks,,i think $140 for nonmembers   the other programs are $350 to 2500   for 12 to 24 weeks.  i havent won the lottery so i picked the cheap one   { plus side--teacher is beautiful }    keep checking in each week

hello to the new person , 100lbs no problem, cut the food- double the exercise and no cheating

oh boy ,, its dinner time,,oh boy ,, salad again                     see ya next week                  dan

ok, well the 200 club has been empty of people for two weeks now. i will keep posting , if only for myself. i lost six lbs this week by going on a semi-fast all week. my six day cal. count is about 2200.  not as hard as i thought it would be, but im not going to keep it up. i like the weight loss , but i should eat a little more. i have a class at kaiser today and i cant wait to turn in my food logs to the dietician, shes gonna kill me. looks like everyone else wants to stay fat, not me. ill be back here next week, so until then--thank you america and goodnight

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

Lol Dan, you crack me up!  You've lost like 10 pounds since the last time I was on! I'm scared about your calories though!  You're not getting enough by a long shot.  You don't want to stroke-out or something!  I just reduced my calories again and I thought I was being very conservative to keep them between 1150 and 1290 daily.  I lost another 5 pounds last week but I've been hitting the gym hard everyday.  I've lost a hair over 50 pounds so far since I began on June 8th.  By the way, I love Zuma Beach too.  I grew up back and fourth between the Pacific Northwest and So. Cal and I love and very much miss the whole area on P.C.H between Point Mugu and Santa Monica.  I used to spend a lot of time in the Malibu area when I was younger but not so much in the last 5 or 6 years.  I hope to return to the Southland after the first of the year with my healthier, more fun, and reinvigorated shape!

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

hey zuba, good to see you back, 50 big ones since june is great, my diatician wasnt there this week so i didnt get yelled at. i stopped fasting so i only lost one lb. thats ok.  the fasting wasnt as bad as youd think, i lived on two to three cups of coffee and pickles , carrots and tomatoes.  i live in granada hills and have for the past 37 years, the beach used to be fun til i got fat, now im getting thinner but my stomach sags to the floor, so ill wait and see what happens. i should get a gym membership, but walking is cheaper and works ok. keep it up, keep posting, as you see almost nobody stays around long, but if you can keep it up, it will make a difference. ive got to lose 14 lbs to drop below the lowest ive been since i was about 20.{ 21 years ago } so if i lose 7 lbs a month ill be there in two months. a little slow but ok.

hey mr jeff, good to see your back, dont worry about the past, just get back on track, i find that checking in every week is a great motivator. golfnut has dropped out, but me and mr Z are still here, and i aint goin nowhere till i see 199 lbs at the least and 175 at the best.   ok gentlemen, till next week    I AM OUTA HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

I just got my starter pack, and subscribed to myalli.com today. I'm starting our at 237, and hoping to drop down below 200, for an eventual goal weight of 175. Hmmmm, that sounds nice! I haven't been below 200 for so long I can't remember exactly when, but sometime in the early 1990's I think.

Seems like Alli is heavily marketed towards women, but us guys need to drop pounds too!

Now I'm off to find a better profile pic....

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

    hey mr. d11,

getting below 200 is something i havent done in about 22 years, i blew it this week and didnt lose, but it happens, and ill move on. i think alli is geared to women cuz they are more likely to diet, but if the stuff helps than what the heck.        try this---

1... if you eat until your mildly full, you ate to much,,gotta leave the table hungry, and that is not easy

2.....learn to love salad                   good luck

zubadog you left dude why?    aahh they all leave ,, and im the sole survivor, 13 lbs away from 200 lost and ill get there..............ok see ya next week                            dan

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

maniac, thanks for the tips. Arghhh, salad...... I just never have liked it, I guess that's why I'm 60 pounds overweight! I just got back from vacation in Cali and In-n-Out burger is what pushed me up to almost 240!! If I lived out there I'd be 300 at least. I'm glad we don't have those here since I couldn't resist them.

I'll be here until I'm at or below 175. I'll race you to 200!

Re: Invitation: Join the 200 Club - guys with a 200 lb destination

    ok, ill take that challange.

in n out and tommys are great, i love the chili cheese fries at tommys, cant have them though. if you wanna kill the diet, try the CARLS JR. DOUBLE SIX DOLLAR CHEESEBURGER  its bigger than the in n out 4x4.   i used to like the double double animal style ,  but im back to the reg style now, {animal style-grilled onions, extra sauce}.

salad is king  and diet soup is queen, but calories are god...you must of cut the cals. thats a good amount of lbs to lose in a week, but im gonna beat you to 199 , you aint got a chance,,,,,,, I WILL BE BACK NEXT WEEK,,,GOOD LUCK                        DAN

p.s.  the pills didnt do it, you did  {  10g of fat minus 25% = -2.5g = 23 cals x 3 times a day =70 cals a day---------------- -1 lb fat =3500 cals    i.e taking the pills for 50 days = 1 lb of fat lost          not much
