Well, according to the Alli craving converter, you would go for 11 baked chips and 2 Tbsp. salsa. I think you could even double the salsa because it is so light though .... if you wish.

Re: Any ideas/substitutions for chips and queso?

I love this one Layered Monterey Pumpkin Dip, http://www.verybestbaking.com/recipes/detail.aspx?ID=28723.  If you check out the nutrient info it has 2 grams of fat per serving (2 TBS).  You can reduce this by using fat free cream cheese and/or fat free sour cream.  It is really yummy.  When I made it for super bowl last year, My sister thought she was eating cheese and was saying she needs to stop-  It's addictive-  She was thrilled to know that it was pumpkin.

It's great with baked chips, or fresh veggies.  You can adjust the ingredients to taste.

Another chip companion that we love is a bean salsa

    1 can black beans

    1 cup frozen corn- thawed

    1 small red onion diced

1 can diced tomatoes w/ green chilis ( most recently I used rotel w/ limes and cilantro and still added more lime juice and cilantro)

    juice of one lime

    1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro

Change happens one choice at a time.

    Kelly

    Goals for Feb-

    1. Eat at least 5 fruits/ veggies everyday.

    2. Get my weekly step counts up to at least 40K a week

    3.  Do Cardio exercise 3x a week 30 min or more per day.

    4.  Do yoga 3x a week

Re: Any ideas/substitutions for chips and queso?

My family would love to eat chips and salsa on Friday nights and I felt deprived because the chips were high in fat and not worth it to me.  Well, I recently picked up some WASA sourdough crackers and I have them with salsa.  Tastes so good to me and I like it better than the chips!

Re: Any ideas/substitutions for chips and queso?

I buy torillas and bake them to make my own chips. Just be sure to buy corn not flour, cuz the flour ones taste more like bread... did that once by mistake... oops. This way you can buy the lowest calorie tortillas you can find. Plus I only bake one serving at a time. The less convenient it is, the less I want it... lol
