    Diet Pop Cake

This is super easy and delicious. One can of diet pop (any flavor) and one box of cake mix (again, any flavor). Mix together until

blended well. I used my mixer for about 2 minutes. Spray a cake pan (13' x 9') with Pam and dump the mixture in. Bake at 350 for

about 30 minutes or until you can insert a knife and it comes out clean. (You guys know this already.) The cake is a little more

dense than standard cake. More like the texture of a brownie. Top with fat free Cool Whip.

If you cut the pan into 12 servings each slice equals 14.2 calories and .3 fat. (these totals are without the topping, of course.)

Also, think of the possibilities. I made it just the other day with yellow cake mix and one can of diet A&W root beer. The next time

I think I'll use a white cake mix and add diet orange soda...chocolate cake with diet cola or diet Dr. Pepper....spice cake mix with

    diet Sprite.

    I hope you enjoy it!!

    Re: Diet Pop Cake

I made this and brought it to work the other day.  It was my turn to bring the refreshments for the monthly meeting.  I used a yellow cake mix and diet dr. pepper, and topped the cool whip with sliced strawberries.  Nobody could believe it was diet!

I've also made it with chocolate cake mix and the diet dr. pepper.  That was reallllllly good.

    Re: Diet Pop Cake

HI, I just tried the diet pop cake!!  I can't thank you enough for this so simple dessert.  I tried it on on my family and co-workers and it was a big hit!  I spent some time at work writing out different combinations to try.

Thanks again and if there are any other dessert tips you can give, I would love to try them...

    Re: Diet Pop Cake

You're welcome, Marlene. I'm so glad you liked it. I'm always nervous passing on a recipe I like. You never know if it will be a hit with others.

I'm going to make a low fat chocolate truffle this weekend. It's make with Fat Free Cream Cheese, conf. sugar, cocoa and some other things. If I remember correctly each truffle has 60 calories and 1 gram of fat.

I'm going to make them Saturday. If they're good, I'm going to make a couple "care packages", include the recipe and take them to a couple people at church on Sunday. (they are also trying to lose weight.)

I'll let you know how they are. If they're good, I'll post the recipe.

    Re: Diet Pop Cake

     Hi Dawn,

    (that is my middle name)

Glad to hear the diet orange and white cake combo is good. I want to try it. I thought that could definitely give you a "dreamsicle" feeling when you eat it.

Let me know about the white and Dr. Pepper combo. I'm curious. I thought about a spice cake mix and diet sprite too.

They all sound good. My favorite thing is I can have two pieces, if I want, for less than 30 calories. Can't feel guilty about that.

    Re: Diet Pop Cake

o man is this cake good! I madde it for Easter so I would also have a  dessert. I use white  cake mix with orange diet soda. Fat freee cool whip  with 1 box sugar free orange jello. I only got one piece f this entire cake and I doubled the recipe. It was gone, devourred, fiinshed. i had to give the recipe to other family members who almost demanded it lol.I also though about mixing  a pkg of sugar free instant pudding with the whipped topping. It would add a few more cloarise but deffinetly give the cake a different flair.

    Re: Diet Pop Cake

Wonderful dessert!  I used a strawberry cake mix & diet sprite.  And I mixed in sugar-free jello gelatin into the fat-free cool whip.  Next time, I"ll use three quarters of that gelatin package, the cool whip was almost too sweet, believe it or not =)
