My uncle (gourmet chef) shared this recipe with my family this weekend. I realized that it was fat free due to not adding oil, and it was absolutely delicious! I thought I would share it here. It definitely will make you forget about regular FF Italian.
Buy the Good Seasons Italian dressing mix (get a four pack), buy a good balsamic vinegar and a rice
wine vinegar. I also bought the good seasons dressing mix bottle. Don't follow
the directions on the packet, do this:
Mix 1/2 cup balsamic, 1/4
cup rice wine vinegar, 1/2 cup plus two tablespoons water, and 3 packets
dressing mix into a small sauce pan, or microwave safe bowl (preferably a
measuring cup with a spout). Heat to just before boiling... Let sit until room
temp, then pour into a bottle and keep on your counter or in pantry (don't
refrigerate).
There is no oil in it, so no fat, and it won't go rancid in your pantry. You can add a tbsp
or so of oil to your salad then top off with this dressing, or skip it all
together. I made it yesterday, and it is sooooo good.
