    Busy Hairstylist!

     Hello all;

    I just joined today. I'm waiting for my Alli pills to come in the mail - but I have a few questions and am basically just looking for some tips from the other extremely busy Alli users out there!

    I'm a busy busy hairstylist...I work 3  8 hour days and one 8 hour afternoon/evening, and then I have 3 days off in the week. Those 3 days off won't be a problem as I can plan and cook accordingly, however on the days that I work, I often don't get a break AT ALL, and if I do, I have 5 minutes in the back room between clients to gobble something down. Any tips on some ways to get some relatively healthy meals in? Also, another challenge is, I work in a salon in a mall, and of course the food court is nearby, and all my co-workers mow down on their mcdonald's cheeseburgers and fries, etc...I realize that willpower plays a factor...I guess I'm just looking for some good tips before I start so that I'm prepared and kinda know what to expect!

    Thanks in advance!

    Cheers:)

    Re: Busy Hairstylist!

     Hi,

    I'm Shanna, and I'm a hairstylist, too.  I have the same schedule as you!  I work 2-8 or 9, tues & thurs, and 9-3  Wed & Friday.  I make this plan work by just doing a little planning ahead...

    I log all my food in the morning, or the night before, so I know what I'm having for the day.  I love lean cuisines, I have them for lunch with a garden salad with regular dressing, just 1/2! and sometimes a piece of fruit.  I carry fiber-one bars, wheat thins and 100 calorie packs.  I bring 4 yogurts and 4 cheese sticks and keep them in the fridge for the week.  At work, I eat when I have time. I know it only takes me 20 minutes to apply a color, but a 1/2 hour is booked, so I throw the lean cuisine in the microwave before I start applying, so it's ready when I'm done. I usually have 7-8 minutes to gobble up my salad and lean cuisine.  I always know what I can have, keep it handy and eat it!

    As far as the fast food places, they have their nutrition guides online, and you can look before you go, and plan what you will have.  Most places have things you can eat, it's just a matter of choice.  If there's a salad you like, and most of the fat comes from the salad dressing, use 1/2.    But remember, you need to meet you fat/calorie requirements in order for this plan to work.  Have you read the two posts under the personal experiences thread by Betty Kovaks about reaching those goals.  They're very informative, and everyone on here that are succeeding with this, say that information in an absolute must to follow...

    I will add you to my circle, and keep a look out for ya!  Good luck to you!

    Shanna

     Oh I'm so glad someone asked just that question. I'm a hairstylist too! What I would like to know is how do you add in food that you eat like a certain snack? Ex mini rice cakes? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks Corine
