Re: I started alli today - Any 50+ grandmas need a buddy?

I myself was skeptical to start as I have an hour drive to and from work each day and was afraid of the treatment effects.  I have been taking the pills for a week and have not had any ill effects...mostly in part because I make sure I stay under my fat grams each meal.  It's amazing how big a motivator those treatment effects can be!!!!  I just look at a donut now and say 'no thank you...not enough bathrooms on my way home'!  You will be surprised at how you can't even tell you are taking anything...not like other diet pills I have taken before.  Good luck - hope you get up the courage soon to take them!

Wow, it's really great to see you all here. I lost another pound so I'm still tickled pink. I really think the treament effects have been a great motivator to me. I know I don't want to be the one in day care with a "problem." Can you imagine my kids?  Oh, it's just too funny. I live in Balto vicinity and am really trying hard to get myself in shape and keep myself there. I know you all know what I am talking about. My husband doesn't care what I look like ( I am so lucky there) and it's really me that has the problem. This alli is the best thing my Dr could have done for me. Hope to see you all around. Go and have a great week!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hugs, Gammy

Welcome to Bethir and baliza2.  I don't know if the salad is healthy or not. Mcdonald's used to have the nutrition chart for all of their  items hanging on the wall,. You could look in one of the books you got if you bought the starter kit. they had the nutritional facts for many restaraunts. Good to see you.

Re: I started alli today - Any 50+ grandmas need a buddy?

Hi balizan2, I bought this awesome little book at Walmart for about 7 bucks called "The Calorie King Calorie, Fat and Carbohydrate Counter". I was in In the book section. It has a ton of food listed and a whole bunch of restaurants. According to this book the McDonald's salad made with grilled chicken has 320 calories and 9 grams of fat. Made with crispy chicken it has 430 calories and 20 grams of fat- but those counts are without dressing. The creamy southwest dressing adds 100 calories and 6 grams of fat.

It's the weirdest thing.  I LOVE the southwestern chicken salad.  So I ordered the grilled and they gave me the fried.  I ate and had no treatment affects.  Was I lucky?

That's great that you lost 5 lbs in one week and also encouraging.  I'm beginning with my first pill today.  A little anxious as to the side effects but moving ahead any way.  I have like 45 lbs that I want to lose and hope this works for me.  Hopefully this forum will help.

    Keep up the good work.
