HI , i am a 52 year old grandma starting alli for the 5th time. i lost 25 lbs lat year and gained it back. I bought 270 tablets on sale. thats alot of alli and im going to use it all. my goal is 140 and i have 19 lbs to loose again. im ready and willing to have any help i can get from the 50 above community. momebakr/aka grammy baker p.s. this is the best weight loss regimine ive ever been on, takes lots of disipline and support from the family. sometimes your on your own , but i just shake it off and tell everyone this is what we are having for dinner and if you need more add something to it. thats how we roll at the baker house.

Re: I started alli today - Any 50+ grandmas need a buddy?

No, I'm not a grandma but sure am old enough to be one and then some at 82.  I'm new to the program, only 2 weeks but very happy with it so far.  I have lots to lose, much more than you, but so far I'm not really discouraged.  In my situation, sharing meals with so many others, about 50 in all in our dining room, I get to watch the skinny Minnies eat gravy, sweet desserts, and they never exercise but are slim and don't gain easily!  It's a challenge but I shut my eyes to what they can do so easily and concentrate on the Alli program and it seems to be working even this early.

Any support I can give let me know.  You lose slower the older you are they tell me but I'v already lost 2 pounds and I credit Alli for that.  Good luck.

Hey there everybody. I'm so sorry I bugged out for a while. We are having a lot of issues with my MIL and will be spending alot of time with my MIL. A LOT of time. I will try to keep up with the thread but I'm telling you, I'm being tested. So glad to see the new bunch of members and I wish you all well. I'll be making my first goal Saturday since I have met it already. Woo Hoo.  Keep up the good work. Hugs, Gammy

    Hi,

i am a 50+ grandma as well and am strating the program today.  I actually purchased the product several months back but was skeptical about beginning.  But decided that today was the day. This website seems to be very heplpful and user friendly.  It will be nice to have support from others on the program and stories to share.

I started today as well.  I am a 50+ grandma (54) and anxious to lost the weight.  In the past I walked on a regular basis but haven't being walking as often due to an auto accident.  I def see the difference from not walking.  It is nice to have others to trade stories with and look to for encouragement!

new to me as well.  i have a total of 40 pounds to lose.  I know that once I commit to walking on a regular basis that 1/2 the battle is won.  Choosing the correct foods to eat seems to be easier with the diet plans provided.  Now I just have to make sure that I plan ahead and stick to the proper food choices....

so far so good-- day 1 was hard, but i got in close to a mile walk.   i'm not supposed to start the Alli until monday.  the weekends are always tough for me.   had a grilled chicken sandwich with lettuce and tomato and  no mayo on it, and it was good without the mayo..  small steps..
