    Re: May ALLI Starters

    Hi All!

I hope things are going well for everyone!  Things are extremely stressful for me right now.  I am quitting my job on Sunday, after ten years.  It has become an extremely hostile environment, and I don't think I can take it anymore, physically or mentally.  The last few days I have spent all my free time looking for another job, and taking steps to find out if I would qualify for unemployment.  I put in a few more applications today, so if you could all keep me in your prayers that would be great.

For the good news...I had my weigh-in this morning, and I am down another 3lbs. for a total of 16lbs.  I'm a little worried that this is due to stress and not eating as much.  I have had to force myself to eat some meals, because my stomach is just too upset, but at least what I have eaten has been good.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!  Stay strong! :)

    Re: May ALLI Starters

     Hi to you also Julie,

I am new to this and  this is my first contact with anyone on the plan.  Congrats on the weight loss!!  Hopefully it isn't all due to the job stuff.  That could sure weigh you down.  Good luck with the job hunt.

I started last Wednesday and started the capsules on Sat.  So far so good and really excited about it at this point!!

Unsure at this point as to how to put all info on everyone has, but, maybe with experimentation and watch all alli people here will learn!!  Any suggestions from any of you greatly appreciated.

Happy 4th weekend to all and take care.  Look forward to speaking to everyone.  Good luck with the job hunt Julie.  Things happen for a reason and when one door closes usually another one opens.

I am Sherry, in Coastal North Carolina and needing to lose 25 to 30 lbs

    Re: May ALLI Starters

     Hi All!

Well just checked in, and no weight loss this week.  At least there was no gain.  I am not doing very well mentally right now.  Still job hunting, but nothing yet.  It's very depressing spending all of my time looking for work and going over finances.  My head is not into keeping track of my calories/fat, although I am no eating bad stuff.  I am not giving up, it just may take me a little longer.

Hey, where are the rest of you May Alli Starters????????  I hope everything is going well for you all!

    Re: May ALLI Starters

     Kels, Carrera,

OMGsh I cant even believe it-sounds like we are all in the same boat-What is going on? My honey and I came back from vacation on Tuesday (had a WONDERFUL much needed time) and I was so tired and been working extra long hours, soooo first time i have had a chance to check the board is today....wow ladies we need to motivate each other....maybe we should ask ourselves what it was that attracted us to start alli in the first place? For me it was reading the success stories and knowing they were real people just like me, maybe i will print the stories and hang them up in the house.....maybe we should ask ourselves what gets us off track....my answer may be "stress" when i stress I eat so maybe I will make my body and my happiness a focal point first and foremost...I heard a weight loss add this morning that said "I thought being fat was a way of life" well i started thinking about that and I think the same way, as a matter of fact I have almost ACCEPTED being fat as a way of life...well ITS NOT!! Being healthy and happy is!! Cheers to us ladies we owe it to ourselves to get fit and feel our best!

BTW- You ladies should be soooo proud of yourselves you've both done so well! I have only lost 5 pounds and have gained one back since May 25th!

    Re: May ALLI Starters

    Hi everyone!

I am back from Vacation! I had such a good time, I extended until last night. Now I have a bad sunburn and one less pound to show for it.

I didn't do so great over the holiday - ate some BAD food. But did lose - which must have been a 4th of July miracle! Like many of you, I start over right away. I know that I am making better choices than I ever have before. THis weekend, I started to eat a hot dog and had to stop. It just wasn't worth it to me. I didn't feel guilt, but I want to lose weight more than eat the rest of that hot dog.

I looked at the rest of the people who started on this thread and many haven't signed on since Mid-May. So I hope we stick together for the long haul! I could use the support!

Julie! Congraulations on the weight loss!! I quit my last job in February. I couldn't take it anymore either. Remember that you are on a journey of not only physical health, but mental as well. I am glad that you did what you have to in order to be happy.

    Re: May ALLI Starters

I'm so glad you had a good vacation, mine is in 15 days.  Just wanted to share my good news.  I started the last of May (but I did bad last night eating a big mac), anyway I pulled out some old shorts that I had and haven't been able to wear in about 3 years.  Well, I got in them and zipped them up without lying on the bed lol  - yeahhhh.  I was so happy.   So maybe this is motivate everyone.  I've lost 13 lbs since I started Alli.

My journey will be a long one, With God's help and Alli I can make it.

I have to tell yah, without you "guys" I would be having a lot harder time than I am...talking with people who know what I'm going thru is a lot better than talking to someone who's stick thin and really can't feel what I'm feeling kwim???  Well another week is gone and Im down 3 lbs...:) yay

    Re: May ALLI Starters

     Hi Ladies!

Checking in again - another tough weekend. I didn't realize this about my eating habits until I started keeping track of everything I eat, but I tend to cave on Sundays! Usually because it's my 'at home' day and I don't plan ahead. This has proven to be very bad for me! I graze all day and by the end of the day have well exceeded my calories and sometimes fats.

I did lose two pounds, making it a total of 24 lbs in just over 9 weeks. I know it's healthy and the good way to do it, but I have SO much to lose, that I can barely tell. Even with the measurements! I am feeling a little discouraged and bored. I miss those early weeks of losing 3,4, even 7 lbs!

Any advice and encouragement?? I am going to keep going, but at this rate, it will take me 2 years to get it all off and that just seems daunting.

    :(

    Carren

Don't be so hard on yourself.  If Sundays are your only bad days, well I congratulate you.  As long as you don't eat a whole cake or side of a cow I think you should be ok.  Some times you have to give yourself an off day.  I do but I keep in the back of my mind about the diet.  The best part is you're still loosing and you're doing great.  Remember you didn't put it on overnight and it's not going to come off overnight.  When you start having to go buy clothes, which I suspect you're having to do about now or close to it, you'll have a different outlook.  Other people can tell more than you can.  You look at yourself everyday so you wont see the difference.  Keep up what you're doing, change things around a little.  Start going somewhere on Sundays or do something that will get your mind off food.  Make it your "My day" instead of at home day.

Don't stop though, keep up the good work.  you'll get there.  Here's an idea, after you eat supper and before you go to bed on Saturday write yourself notes and put them in the kitchen.  That way everytime you go in the kitchen on Sundays you'll see them and rethink your decisions.  Hope it works and remember we're all here together.

    Re: May ALLI Starters

     Hi All!

I had my check in this morning, and I am up .2lbs.  I am a little disappointed, but I actually that it would higher.  I have not done any logging in of my food or even any counting.  This whole job hunt and financial stress seems to have taken over.  I have just given myself a good kick in the butt, and I am going to get back on track.  I did have a job interview last night, and it seemed very positive.  It would completely change my schedule though.  I would be working graveyard shift as a production cook.  The schedule will actually work well for my family.  I will work while they sleep, sleep while they are at work/school, and then be able to eat dinner with them and see my son's football games and my daughter's dance performances.  There will also be a lot of overtime which actually kind of excites me.  We might be able to finally get out of debt and be able to put money away.  I should hear about it sometime today or tomorrow.  I'll keep you posted.

Carren - I know it gets hard sometimes, but don't give up.  You have done a tremendous job so far.  Good luck to you this next week.

    Julie

    Re: May ALLI Starters

    Thanks, Diamond and Julie.

I know that it is the healthy way, but like I said, it seems daunting. It took 15 years to get it packed on. I know that those 2 years are going to happen whether or not I am healthy, so I might as well be. But ACK! *Sigh*

I have noticed that my clothes are feeling loose, but I am not yet ready to buy new clothes. I spent ALOT of money on new clothes about 3 months before I started this, so I will probably just get things taken in a little at a time. I do also have that stack of clothes I haven't worn in a while because I had outgrown them. I am starting to fit into those again. Perhaps next month, if I meet my goal, I will buy something new. I am sure that will cheer me up!

I think I need to just get a better night's sleep. :) I really do appreciate your support. Thanks for the idea on the notes, I need to definitely plan better for Sundays.

Julie - I will pray for you tonight on the job front. I know how stressful it is. It sounds like a good deal to be able to spend more time with your fam.

    Thanks!!
