    Re: This is ridiculous!

You are right, Irish, nuts are high in fats but it's also HEALTHY fats. My 12 raw almonds equals about 7 grams of fat, which I need with my breakfast since everything else I eat is very low fat. They are also high in Protein (3 grams), which is another nutrient that many people don't get enough of. So, eating nuts in moderation is something you can do when you are having trouble meeting your fat grams. :)

Definitely do not "save up" fat grams. You really want to space them out through the day.

There are other nutrition/food journals on the web. Do a search and you may find one that is easier for you to use. I've been using FitDay for the last year and have found it very helpful.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: This is ridiculous!

I find the Alli food journalling tool a bit cumbersome to use. I have used and continue to use Calorie King. Go to that name on the web.  Has the best database I have ever seen, is easy to add food, and you can tailor the information to as little or as much as you want, e.g. just calories and fat.  There is an nominal annual subscription fee, but it is worth it IMHO.

You need something easy to log the food you eat. I use FitDay but there are many other food/nutrition logs available. Some are free, some require fees. Do a search for food or nutrition journal and you should come up with a number of different sites.

Have you read Betty Kovacs articles on meeting you calories and fat grams? Those are two articles I highly recommend to learn why reaching those is important.
