Re: JUST STARTING.... WHOS HAD SUCCESS?

I must say these stories are VERY encouraging! I too am just getting started. I will start taking my pills in 2 days. I have a friend that takes Alli and seems to do very well with it. Not that she was really heavy to begin with though.

I am nervous... mostly about having any 'treatment effects'!! For me though, I think having the clear knowledge that 'something could happen' if I don't watch what I eat is going to be MY guiding factor. I tend to be a little vain so I would be MORTIFIED if something happened, especilly in publc! LOL!

Wish me luck... and I wish you luck!! and continued success for those of you who have been doing this for a while!

Re: JUST STARTING.... WHOS HAD SUCCESS?

     Hello!

I am started Alli a week ago and so far have had no treatment effects.  I think I need to be more serious about writing everything down and exercising more.  I'm 58 but feel like 28, yet need to lose 50lbs.  Am looking forward to the support!

Re: JUST STARTING.... WHOS HAD SUCCESS?

I think that i qualify as a success.. i started over a year and a half ago..wearing a very tight 18..i am 56 years old and menopausal.. i have 3 kids 30, 17, 16...i was in a bad marriage with ZERO support from anyone at work or in my family..i tried to lose weight with excercise alone for a few months..i went from 197 to 187.. (now my size 18s weren"t too tight any more, but they fit)..i tried alli and kept on excercising, learned a new way of eating, and steadily lost weight.. it took over a year but i lost over 50 lbs and now fit nicely in size 8..i have been on maintenance for the last 4 months  and have stayed within 2 lbs..as far as my personal life goes..i have gotten  rid of 225 lbs of ugly fat (my ex)..and met a very nice man  that is  very supportive of my new lifestlye.. we eat healthy and we both excercise..we both want to live healthy lifestyles..i feel so much better..my joints dont hurt as much as they did..and hey its fun buying clothes in smaller sizes..i think i feel better now than i did when i was 35..however this plan is not magic.. you still have to work at it and change your lifestyle..i learned that alli is a tool that gets you on track as far as eating  goes..the support on the site is extraordinary and i think that the key is having some support..i have made lots of friends through this website..so get started and start posting..best wishes.. kathy

highest weight all time 197 size 20 12/26/07 alli start weight 187 size 18        6/22/09  GOAL weight 135 size 8 .  current weight 7/6/09  -134..Every journey starts with the first step.. after that it is one foot in front of the other.. Kathy

Re: JUST STARTING.... WHOS HAD SUCCESS?

Hi everyone, you ladies inspire me to press forward..I have lost 12lbs so far and i feel like i am dreaming! I could never find anything that worked for me and alli has turned it around for me.  I could never stick with wwatchers long i would give up. but there is something about the alli plan that is so much easier...I dont feel like i have to deprive myself either. I have over 100lbs to shed! for the first time i really think it is possible to be thin again. Thanks for the stories and encouragement. Wishing everyone success.  LETS DO IT!!!

You are a success Kathy .... congratulations ... and I agree with everything you said.  It is not a quick weight loss but a slow and steady process and a life-style change.  And it is so much fun going shopping now ... currently in size 6 -- down from a size 22.

     Kathy & Pat,

What an inspiration you are to me!!!!!!! I am 53 yrs old.  I started at 183 lbs on May 22, 09. I am now 169lbs today!!!! I am SOOOOOO happy!!!!  Size 16 is too big but size 14 is still too small...but I know I am on my way to that size!!!! You both have really encoraged me to stay focused.

Re: JUST STARTING.... WHOS HAD SUCCESS?

I started Alli on August 1, 2009. I just checked in today and have lost a total of 16 lbs! I am so happy! I have about 80 left, but will be happy with anything more I lose.  I have been walking on the treadmill for 30 min a day and eating a lot better! I start back to work tomorrow-I'm a teacher-and I hope I can continue to keep it up.  No I know I can keep it up!  My goal is 8-10 lbs per month. I'm not hungry and more active with my 3 kids-9, 7, & 6.
