Hi Miboca - I also like and use the elliptical a lot. Easy on the joints and a good workout. Check with your medical professional and start easy. According to my scale (a Weight Watchers Scale that tracks body mass, etc.), my percentage of lean body mass has increased and my body fat has declined, but, overall, I've lost weight. I also feel stronger and healthier. For me, the changes are gradual and even though I'm still at a large size, I look more toned.
