Hi, I posted this in the 20's something forum but i think maybe i should had posted it here...

Anyone have any good DVD's they would recommend? I am also thinking about purchasing the Wii Fit but I don't want to spend too much money on it or even on DVDs if they arent good ones. So if you know one that you would recommend- please let me know and I will check it out!! Thanks!!! :)

    Re: workout dvds

If you are just starting out on a fitness program and aren't in good shape, Wii Fit can be a great place to start. If you are already exercising and need to increase your intensity then I would suggest trying My Fitness Coach (MFC) or EA Sports Active. MFC is more like a traditional aerobics workout with your own personal coach. You can use an aerobic step, hand weights and exercise ball with the program. EA Sports Active has a great 30 Day Challenge program that increases intensity each week. The games are really fun but also work you hard. The nice thing with either game is that you can easily monitor your progress.

    Re: workout dvds

Any workout DVD that I've bought from The Biggest Loser has been good. They can vary in length and intensity, depending on where you are right now. Also, exercisetv.tv has a lot of great videos. They are fairly inexpensive and sometimes free. (download to computer and then, if you want burn to DVD). I've done several from there. Again, they vary in length and intensity. I especially like two kickboxing sessions that are completely free. At the bottom of the homepage, locate the kickboxing category. They are labeled TKO 19:43 and KBC 20:34.

    Maybe this will help.

Try collage video web site (collagevideo.com )  They have lots of dvds.  They have staff reviews and user reviews.  I just started 10 minute trainer series (beach body series).  It's good because you can exercise for 10 minutes if you're short on time or add another 10 minute workout.  It was expensive though, close to 100 dollars with shipping.

    Re: workout dvds

It depends on your level.  I was previously a mid level impact person but my osteoarthritis has curtailed that.  I now do low impact with less jumping around. My preference is for tapes that allow you the flexibility to split the exercise session or do the the whole session.  I have a sizable catalog but some of my favorites are:  1) Nautilus Low Impact Aerobics (an older VHS 40 min. low impact aerobics tape); 2) Leslie Sansone's Walk Slim 4 Fast Miles (a 46 min walking/low impact aerobics tape).  This one is excellent because it allows you to split the work out session in terms of miles.  If I'm running short on time, I do 2 miles (approximately 20 + plus mins) before work and the rest after work starting with a slight warm-up. 3) Turbo Jam (a 20 minute workout).  This has great dance music and even has a sculpt (toning) session.  Once your level is substantial, Gin Miller's original aerobic step tape is exceptional, but lengthy.  Since tapes can be costly and I have been disappointed after buying some of them, I look for the best buys and I also check out reviews online.  A quick tip.   Every so often Target has exercise DVDs in their dollar section.  I have picked up several tapes this way in the past.  Also, Ross stores carry some exercise DVDs ranging from $3.99 to $6.99.  You may not recognize the author but who cares.  This way, I am able to try out different types of aerobics, including kickboxing.  Hope this helps!
